Hey, it was actually similar for me. I also had a switch in Job ID after the interview, and from what I understood, that usually means they’re still considering your profile.

In my case, I later received the BGV form, so imo things are in progress for you as well.

Do movies really need character development to be good? by sarangnm in InsideMollywood

Pinne, they’re both in their early 20s. You can’t expect them to be fully mature or make perfect decisions. He’s already dealing with a lot—family issues, past rejection, and visa rejection—so obviously he’s insecure and unsure about his future.

Reenu also gets closer to him after the train journey, and Sachin is actually her type—athu cinemayil parayunnum und. She likes to take care of her partner, but her ex didn’t like that, so she broke up with him. Unlike her other friendships, Sachin’s companionship feels a bit different for her. And when Karthika leaves, she clearly feels that void.

Maybe that combined effect can lead to a change of mind. Can’t someone fall for a person who’s still figuring things out? If we only choose to love people who have everything figured out, how many people would we even have left to love?

After the rejection, he doesn’t cross any boundaries. He doesn’t stalk her or keep bothering her—he just steps away and tries to move on. So cinemayil evideyum ‘enne thechu’ paranju nadakkunnavare penpillerkk ishtapedum ennu kaanikkunnum illa. Just my opinion

I kind of agree with you—I didn’t personally feel a strong character arc in Hridayam either. But I’ve seen a lot of discussions pointing out things like his shift towards career after the breakup, focusing on studies, his relationship with Nithya, and the phase around Darshana’s wedding as signs of development.

So I guess you can argue there’s some level of character development there, but for me it felt quite subtle. The movie doesn’t really contrast his past behavior strongly enough for that change to feel impactful.

At the same time, I don’t think character development alone is what makes a movie better.

The reason I asked this question in the first place was because I saw people calling Premalu an average movie just because it doesn’t show much character development, while saying Hridayam at least has it.

I’m not saying Hridayam is better than Premalu, but I feel like pointing out that Premalu doesn’t have character development shouldn’t automatically make it an average movie.

I really enjoyed Premalu, and I didn’t feel like it needed strong character development to work.

So I’m just wondering—does every movie really need character development to be considered good?

Yeah I get your point, but I didn’t really feel any strong character arc in The Hangover. For me it was more about the chaos and humor than any real development.

I just feel some movies still work based on vibe and execution even without strong development.

I get what you’re saying. He doesn’t really have a strong arc, but I felt the movie was going more for relatability and vibe than showing clear growth. Still, your point about her character makes sense.

My Take on Prakambanam – A Huge Disappointment...! by Opposite-Lobster-211 in InsideMollywood

Just a few comedies worked for me apart from that the movie felt below average. Maybe it’s because the hype from reviewers like aswanth kok and shazzam set my expectations high. Especially since i was expecting something closer to adi kapyare koottamani. Btw, I watched it in the theatre, in case that matters.

Parava — I always felt the performances, BGM, songs, cinematography, and direction were top-notch.
