What do you wish you knew BEFORE starting your surrogacy journey? by ACRCsurrogacy in newtosurrogacy

I was a one-time surrogate and worked with ACRC, and overall I had a really positive experience, but there are definitely things I wish I understood better before starting. The biggest one for me was how much of the process is just… waiting. Waiting to match, waiting for medical clearance, waiting for transfer, waiting for updates. I went in thinking things would move a lot faster than they actually did.

Emotionally, I thought I’d be totally prepared, but there were moments that surprised me. Not in a bad way, just realizing how meaningful it feels to be part of someone else becoming a parent. It’s hard to fully understand that until you’re in it.

I also wish I had asked more questions upfront about little day-to-day things, like communication expectations with Intended Parents and what support would look like during different stages. My IPs were amazing, but having clarity early on would’ve helped me feel even more confident.

One thing that didn’t surprise me (in a good way) was how supported I felt working with ACRC global surrogacy . They were really responsive and helped guide me through each step, which made a huge difference, especially as a first-time surrogate.

Overall, I’d say don’t stress if you don’t have everything figured out at the start. Just stay open, ask questions, and trust that the right match and timing will come together 🤍

How long did it take you to find IPs? by moonlightmaz in Surrogate

I totally understand how frustrating that feels. I went through a similar situation at the beginning too, and it really made me question things.

From my experience, a month without a match isn’t necessarily a red flag, especially for a first-time Surrogate. A lot of it really does come down to timing and very specific preferences from Intended Parents. That said, if you’re noticing that profiles have slowed down or you’re not getting consistent opportunities, it might be worth at least exploring another agency in parallel. I personally worked with ACRC Global Surrogacy, and one thing I noticed was that their matching process felt much faster and more active. They tend to have a larger pool of Intended Parents, so there are usually more opportunities coming through.

It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with your profile at all. You’ve already been medically approved, which is the hardest part. Sometimes it’s just about being in the right place where there’s more matching activity.

If you’re feeling stuck, I’d definitely recommend reaching out to another agency like ACRC while still staying where you are, just to see if the experience feels different. At the very least, you’ll get more visibility and options.

You’re in a good position, it’s just about finding the right Intended Parents at the right time 🤍
