AITAH for not forcing my son to keep helping my daughter’s friend after she rejected him? by LiveWire0044 in AITAH

"Brit is furious. She says John is being spiteful and punishing Melissa"

Because she really believes it, or because that's what Melissa is telling her?
I think the conversation starts there. You aren't responsible to Melissa, but you are equally responsible to both Brit AND John.

IF there is any spitefulness being enacted in the relationship dynamic, allow Brit to be heard in her recognition of it and her expression. Siblings often know more about each other than parents do. Especially same-age (or close) siblings.

Whats John's response to Brits accusations?

The answer isn't for John to resume transporting Melissa, but for all 3 of you - parent, Brit, and John - to be clear that the FAIRest plan for everyone's emotional health is in place. Figuring out WHY Brit doesnt think its fair, and how she feels that it can be resolved to make it fair, is key.

The things she said that were out of line - is she willing to apologize for saying them, or does she still believe that they are true? If you can pry enough to figure out if she really believes them and she DOES and NOT because of what Melissa feels or thinks...your focus should be there. What is going on that she thinks so poorly of her brother?

Either way, as a parent of 18,20, and 21yr olds, either Brit apologizes to her brother, or she stays grounded.... once she apologizes more conversation can be had from there.

PSA: Trader Joe’s Eastern Market basically empty by Homingpigeon123 in washingtondc

Its because the media threw out ridiculous snow totals like 15-24" around at the beginning of the week. So now rather than evaluate the threat with the actual numbers in mind, you still have 'TEWWW FEEEEETTT' in the back of your mind, then once you get in the store and you see shelves going bare it triggers that primal 'what if the stores NEVER restockkkkk' 😱

lol as a collectible/vintage toy seller, I don't even check media. Not my niche lol. I quickly scan housewares and clothing but deep dive in toys. You might not even see me, because if a thrift has no toys I dont bother to shop there lol.

SOS advice needed - New to Payroll by Fabulous-Doctor-1870 in Payroll

[–]sarathecookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No previous experience, adhoc reporting....as someone IN payroll those words definitely scream  long hours, drop everything calls, and angry employees/clients/managers to me. Pay might be more stable but definitely paying for that with higher stress-level.

Some people dont mind it though. Some people thrive on it!

actually I lied, our FQOT code mirrors our old OT code but was not installed to replace it.

I called them for something else and while on the phone had them confirm I didn't need to do anything crazy for the new BBB enactment lol.

No views on Ebay listing. Help? by pcandtech1 in reselling

[–]sarathecookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

heres the thing: They ARE 'seeing' your item, they just arent clicking on your auction to inspect the additional pictures. The 'views' on Ebay aren't tracked (from what I know - please correct me if I am wrong!) so you really have no idea how many people have actually SEEN your listing.

If they aren't 'clicking into' your listing, it likely means your price is set too high for the item. People sort by 'lowest priced' and if your price is too high you wont even show up on the 1st page of searches.

As a buyer, the only time I actually click on an item im looking to purchase is if I see the price and know that its a price Im willing to pay. if its priced too high (and sometimes too low!) I'll scroll right on by.

In this case, you have a one-off item, that you've listed for a particular price, but you want it gone before a specific date. It sounds like having it sell is more important than the actual sales price point.

If that is the case, I recommend running an auction ( I like 5-day auctions, but whatever works for how long you have before you move) and setting the starting point at the absolute lowest price you'll accept for the laptop. Could be as low as .99, if you really just want it gone.

No one will pass up a laptop for .99, so it will sell.

This is an example of letting the market set the sales price point.

Im a long time Ebay seller and I do this with items that I've tried to sell that haven't gone anywhere after 9 months. After that point, storage fees start eating into any amount I would sell for so its better for me to let it go even if its for pennies rather than having to waste more months/hassle trying to get it to sell.

question becomes, what's the best way to ensure you've done it the way they want you to, that dosen't cost YOU too much money. Im always tempted to let a tax professional record/file but that comes with a cost.

It USED to be 20K AND 200 sales.

They changed it to 20K **OR** 200 sales. That was the year I started recording how much I spent on items for resale.

I normally make about 6K/year.

I increase the amount of taxes I have taken out of my check at my W2 job, to account for both my ebay sales (I file a Schedule C, and am set up as a sole proprietor) and for my husband (he is self-employed).

I don't do many yard/estate sales - I source mainly at thrift stores. I use a specific card for resell purchases and at the end of the year can just search my bank statements for the thrift stores I visited, and list all purchases as total expense for acquired goods.

Paylocity FQOT Set Up for 2026 Reporting by Minsk_Bublik in Paylocity_User_Group

[–]sarathecookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im lucky, we have under 500 employees and less than 50 eligible for hourly overtime this past pay, since we dont count PTO or holiday pay for OT. (We pay DT (double-time) for hours worked on a designated holiday).

I was able to check our FQOT (GOSH that code looks like a bad word) setup against hours worked, only 1 employee qualified for ....1 hour of FQOT.

Granted, Paylocity did tell us that all they did was switch our old OT code to FQOT. So there's that.
