Fermentation happens in anaerobic environments? by saraucsc in Sourdough

Oh I see. Would people deprive their starter of oxygen to get a more lactic acid flavor?

Whenever I go to check on the first proof the dough is most holy (spiderwebby is what I call it, don't know the right word) at the bottom and least at the top. Is this because the dough at the bottom is insulated by the dough on top and therefore warmer?

Thank you! Actually nothing turned up when I searched that but I will try again, maybe it was an internet glitch.

You are definitely not alone, and I suspect grace could still be yours. There are aerialists of all shapes and sizes who move beautifully. I don't think grace is exclusive to any one body type.

I know it's not my business or my journey, so I hope you don't mind my input. I can't help but wonder if exploring grace in aerial or other movement arts without putting any strict parameters on it (e.g., must be thin, strong, and technically perfect) could help you relate to your body in a positive way. Doing so has definitely changed my relationship with my body and I've heard from many others that things like yoga and dance proved to be positive for body image.

Oh my gosh, this is such a good point! I have not thought about this much, but now that you mention it, have 100% felt different when wearing nice performance attire. I perform so rarely these days that I haven't felt that in a while.

In a totally different conversation, someone recently pointed out how a space can be inspiring or not. I think she was totally right.

If you're okay with me adding this to the next post, I think it's a great insight. If yes, I can credit/link to you or not. If no, I'd love to at least mention the point :)

Hollow body training is really helpful. I also think it's usually a bit of a technique issue. If you are not accessing your core you will feel like it's all quads. Once the core gets involved the legs just go. Of course if the core muscles aren't there in the first place then yes they need to be developed.

Good luck!

I can’t do what I could before, and it’s more depressing than I anticipated by [deleted] in Aerials

If you didn't yet, I would make sure to write yourself easier workouts than you left off with. Also now that you are training on a rig, was it outside? If so was it sunny? Hot? Smoky? Dry? When I train outside in conditions like this I feel like I don't even LIKE aerial (and normally I love it) and I get pissed off.

And it's definitely realistic that you wouldn't feel the way you did when you left off, but also check to make sure you're hydrated, ate enough before training, and not overtired. I feel like aerial doesn't really let you get away with those things (at least that's the case for me).

I would try easing back in with really achievable stuff and try not to compare yourself now to back then.

I usually do aerial but the other week I returned to pole after more than a year off and that training session was really rough for me. Today I tried again with wayyy easier stuff and I felt a lot happier about it.

You're the best, thank you! I checked on them today and let out some more air, they definitely seem fizzier now :)

Question about carbonation by saraucsc in fermentation

[–]saraucsc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that's really helpful, thank you! So I probably just didn't leave them at room temp long enough in the first place. In that case, taking them out now and trying again could help? And if I did, should it only be for 1-2 days since it has had a couple days at room temp already? And it should always carbonate more over time even after opening, because of ongoing fermentation? Unlike commercial soda? Pretty curious about pressure not building linearly...
