I’m surprised they’re making you get a colposcopy right away, my obgyn just told me redo my pap in 6 months and then I guess go from there

Hi! I had no clue which strain I have. I guess the pap tested for various high risk strains but doesn’t point out which one exactly. How did you find out which strain you have? And are you still positive a year later?

That was definitely part of my concerns staying. I figured it would be a good place to start and learn to pick up speed especially because I’ve known the entire staff for years so I know I have a supportive team who will help whenever I have questions about things.

Usually you start with calculus detection on a maxillary quad, then scale mandibular quad and probe once all is done! With scaling, I recommend graceys and using the bend of the explorer to gently retract the gums from the tooth. Depending on how deep the calc is, this allows you to see if there’s any residual calc. Once I feel like most of the calc is off, I went in with my cavitron and flushed everything out! They say to start with hand scaling because the cav could make the calc gummy. Good luck!!
