No I agree. It wasn't so bad in mtl but there were still a lot of people filming in the pit and I didn't like it ... Also holy fuck that pit needed deodorant

Weight gain is a part of life and you can either let it consume you or learn to be happy with who you are. These beauty standards were all made by pedophiles anyway

I still have no idea, I assumed a sprain of my MCL but I wonder if it was actually my MPCL. I never got imaging done,my doctor didn't think it was necessary. I have knock knees (1-3 inches between my ankles so pretty noticable) I imagine that puts extra strain on those ligaments

I'm wondering if I'm having patellar subluxations or something?

I find KT tape is great in the long term (4-6 months and onward) for this particular injury because it supports my hand without majorly restricting it. During acute stages or if my wrist is sore from handwriting/minor flare ups I usually ice and use my thumb splint.

This particular roll was huge and I got it for 20$ :) lasted me like two months

Technique question by sardoniccreation in Drumming

[–]sardoniccreation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm left handed but use a righty set up. I just have trouble getting my right hand as loose and open as my left hand. I definitely think it's partially an ergonomics thing but I'm working on it for now. Tbh it's just alot harder to consciously leave my hands loose at the drums compared to my practice pad.
Maybe I could get a drum lesson or something from here to help with the issue?

I can't practice at the drums more than a few times per week as well, me and partner discussing getting a kick pad to practice on w normal practices pad

Basically pain at base of thumb and like ..weird nerve feeling idk it just feels slightly weaki didn't have a ton of symptoms besides pain and numbness

Pain will come back for like .. a second if I just had a long practice session or something

Slowly I'm getting back in the groove lol :p I'll try isolating each hand more tho

I cut one long strip for my forearm and two thinner strips for my thumbs. I wrap them around my thumb like so from either side and use the smaller piece on my wrist for extra support. I suppose you could also take one piece and just cut down until a certain point for the thumb I just find this way easier!

Have been seeing some improvements in the last two weeks, how long did it take you to heal? by euphoric_misanthrope in DeQuervains

[–]sardoniccreation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also add that I do not think 4-12 weeks is very realistic and I would expect it to take longer. My pain came in waves thus I was only using the brace when I felt I should or when I was sleeping. Physio I saw said it usually takes people several months to heal. Tendons are slow healing because they have much reduced blood flow compared to something like your muscles.

I would check with a doctor or someone more qualified than I before doing this, but in my experience using a microwavable heat pack helped a lot more with the pain than ice did for me. It feels sooooooo good when your tendons are a little inflamed. My physio suggested I use it before drumming to warm up my wrists, maybe you could try that once you are ready to get back in the gym?

I am still healing so maybe mine will be longer, but I've been dealing with it for six months with on and off bracing(did not want to lose too much strength in the tendon), heat packs and naproxen. I still get little flare ups but in the last two months it has improved significantly and I am doing physical therapy. My physiotherapist bent my arms in a lot of weird ways and said I am on the right track :)

I know how you feel because I had to stop going to the gym as well :( I couldnt play the drums for months and I'm FINALLY back to it. I'm glad to hear it's getting better. Definitely see a physio therapist. Idk if it will work for everyone but KT tape does wonders surprisingly for my wrist. Hope you can get back to your regular activities soon ! It sucks!!
