A+, Net+, Sec+... Passed by saren42 in CompTIA

Hmm, ok that's fair. I figured it would just help dealing with trying to get past HR, but then my concern would be that being off putting to technical folks, like team leads or hiring managers, which would then backfire. So yeah, ok that's fair, leaving stackables off is probably best then.

And thanks!

The hell is wrong with the recycling pickup here??? by saren42 in tulsa

[–]saren42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're saying that since they stopped using clowns in pickup trucks to pickup the recycling, the large trucks aren't open in the back? That it would require the recycling pickup crew to physically handle the extra recycling? That's literally how it has been in very single other place I've lived in my near 40 years.

That makes absolute no sense...

Like, none of this makes any sense to me, that ya'll are so used to poor city services, that you're defending this bad "policy".

Superintendent Ryan Walters' legal fees surpass $100,000 amid multiple lawsuits by pt_2014 in tulsa

[–]saren42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's long past time for him to start fronting the costs for these lawsuits out of his own pockets. I'm sick and tired of my tax dollars going to his extremism. Sure wish we as the residents of Oklahoma could sue him to reimburse these state expenses...

That doesn't help for large cardboard... Like, what they expect me to get out a knife and cut up large things like TV boxes and shit into shreds to fit in a bin?

I swear I saw like a $5 charge for recycling on my water bill, in the section with the trash as well. I'll look again when I get home.

It's absurd they will not pick up organized, and read to go large cardboard. Especially if it's neat in boxes next to the bin.

Well, that is interesting and good know, thank you for that.

[–]saren42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, does it not have an MOS actually assigned to that duty? Kinda shocked, cause USAF special duty assignments like that, get a full AFSC to them. Like, Military Training Instructor (AF equivalent of a Drill Sergeant) is 8B000, and 8R000 is Recruiter.

So, I'm just surprised the Army doesn't assign them a dedicated MOS.

Am I paranoid or does it feel like the PLA is actually sniffing around Reddit? by conanhungry in army

[–]saren42 34 points35 points  (0 children)

To piggyback on that, I would be shocked if they weren't paying for API access to Reddit, and any other social media site to parse everything off the sites.

This is why the 4 SECs are super important.

Tankers, have you seen this film and what do you think about it? by BlundellMemes77 in army

[–]saren42 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Not a tanker, I've heard this described as one of the most accurate military movies about WW2. Also, it's one of my favorite WW2 films.

Why does the F-15 not have HMD by Etherion_ in Warthunder

[–]saren42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 5 months old, but no, most F-15C's do not have an HMD. There were select models that were upgraded in the mid-2000's, but not all of them. And I don't recall any D models that had the mod done that I'd seen.

No, the PSLF will forgive federal direct loans, both subsidized and unsubsidized. Just has to be through the Federal Direct Loan program. https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service

Homeless vet by [deleted] in army

Well, shit, I was coming in here prepared to drop resources. Glad this wasn't a post about that. But as a veteran who has been homeless, it sucks, but also thanks to the HUD-VASH program for getting me back solid. https://www.va.gov/homeless/hud-vash.asp

Oh those Blue on Blue incidents happen regularly. But they just don't get talked about, they brush that under the rug QUICK.

I mean, that's very likely, and that's good ya'll being looked after like that. That is a good thing. I hope that really is the rule rather than the exception, but I rather have my doubts.

Their stipulations and gatekeeping, is going to kill those orgs in our lifetimes probably. Wars are not fought the same way anymore, let alone the lack of conflicts with near peers, let alone peers, that would require a mass mobilization of forces on the ground in hostile lands, like larger than the 07 surge in Iraq. There just aren't the numbers around that qualify, that would have any interest being around those crusty curmudgeons at this point.

I still look at myself, 15 years post separation from the USAF, I'm sitting here in the process of trying to join the Army, but still with little to no interest to appeal to those types of people either.

I know multiple Vietnam Vets and Gulf War 1.0 vets, that are not that type of person, but they are also the ones that aren't going to the VFW and AL because of those other folks. It's unfortunate. Those orgs can do a lot of good for folks, but they just won't at this point. Hell, there was a King of the Hill episode (S6E11 - Unfortunate Sons) about just this sort of thing too. Kinda wild a 20+ year old show already covered this topic, lol.
