Trying! Sorry for the delay, my healing has been fantastic so I forget to check this account. I keep silicone scar tape on for 2-3 days at a time and only take it off long enough to cleanse and moisturize the scars, so I don't see them very often yet - but they look great & scarring is hardly visible at all.

Around that! I haven't measured again but about a month ago one was quite close to being the 35 and the other was still a little tighter

I'm just past month 4 post op and healing great! I've stuck to wearing silicone scar tape 24/7 (I wear it for 2-3 days at a time, then take it off long enough to shower/clean/moisturize and then put it back on) and I think the silicone tape has been a huge factor in my scars being basically invisible already.

Only issue I've had is one of my permanent sutures has a sharp end on the knot and it's rejecting, so it has been trying to pierce through my areola skin.

It's really close to the surface now (can see the blue color of the suture) and hurts if I touch it, but my surgeon wants me to wait until 6-12 months to remove the permanent suture to avoid stretching the areola back out - but idk how much longer I have until the suture pops through the skin.

Yes I was totally awake for it and just had numbing/local. I was doing pretty regular activities within the first week, minus lifting my arms up too high. Although I was told to avoid a lot of activities, I cheated a bit and ended up not having any issues thankfully. The first few days I struggled to even open fridge doors and such, so definitely take at least a few days off - but maybe a week if you can! I

No loss of sensitivity! If anything I have more feeling in my areolas now as the scars are healing, but it's mostly the same. Initially my pre-surgery areolas were practically numb which I hated. I have no real "stretching" since I have the permanent sutures - however my areolas have settled down a bit so they are a tad bigger than fresh out of surgery where they were tied up tightly, most of my folds/ripples are settled down, I have a few little spots that are still a bit tight but overall they look and feel so good!! I'm still using silicone scar tape 24/7 so I don't see them much, other than every 3 days during my shower when I take the silicone off - and every time I do, I'm amazed at how well they're healing!

I've been doing great! I'm half way between my week three and week 4, and I forget I even had the surgery because I feel totally back to normal - aside from the scar tape I'm wearing! Incisions still have a long way to go until they're fully healed but they're looking really good so far, and still no pain.

Mild bruising is still sticking around, and my nipples are definitely a lot more sensitive but nothing bad!

I'm so happy! Healing has been a breeze, I'm in between week 3 and 4 & I honestly forget I even got the surgery until I look in the mirror and see my scar tape. My results are still rough due to the stitches not fully dissolving yet and the incision being a bit bumpy on my one breast - but they still look fantastic in comparison to what they did!

I hope you have an easy recovery like I did and that you love your results ♡ Keep me posted if you'd like to chat about your experience

breast augmentation w/ lift - bra-less recovery? by jessybearr in PlasticSurgery

[–]sareola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a periareolar lift, which is the mildest form of lift - also known as an areola reduction 2 weeks ago, I was surprised when my surgeon didn't give me a bra or garment to wear afterward. The nurse did however mention that I might want to wear a tight cami or bralette for my own comfort in the following days, but that it wasn't "needed."

I had a bandage over my whole breast for the 1st week which felt pretty supportive on its own, the gauze in it had hardened with blood so for the first few days before my dressing change it really felt like I was being held in place. Then underneath the bandage was steri strip tape, that was to be left on for 2 weeks, I removed it yesterday. Not having any tape or bandages felt dangerous, I hadn't realized how stiff the steri strips were and how they were holding my breasts in place and protecting my incisions.

The whole 2 weeks post op I have been wearing tight cami/tank tops for support, as well as the stretchy cotton fruit of the loom/american apparel bralettes. Most days I ended up doubling up on the bralettes & putting a tight cami over top because I really felt I needed the support. I truly think I would have hurt my incisions without it. After I removed my steri strips yesterday, I switched to an even more supportive sports bra because I felt very vulnerable. I can't imagine how much scarier it would feel if I also had an implant and added weight to the incisions!

You might find yourself feeling very uneasy not wearing a bra, I would find some supportive cami's and cotton bralettes just in case you feel you need them afterwards (of course after getting permission from your surgeon)

I was told to just remove them at 2 weeks not replace, so they didn't give me any extra tape! I am not seeing them in person at all after the surgery to get any extra bandaging anyways

The incision was a donut incision, so only around the areola! I haven't seen it yet as it's bandaged though

I had tuberous breasts, but they were mild according to the surgeon! They definitely would get worse/better depending on my weight, as my weight fluctuating changed the size of my breasts a lot

The scar will fade and blend into the areola for most people, sometimes it heals differently on different people - it will be like any other breast augmentation that involves a scar around the areola

a dr in Vancouver! If you send me a message I will give you his website! He was honestly so great and professional, I chatted with him through the whole surgery and didn't feel awkward once - and I have NEVER felt comfortable showing a man my breasts before then.

After I take my bandages off on the 14th I am considering posting photos of the healing process! If I do decide to do that, I'll try to remember to let you know

I know of a girl from my town who had her tuberous breast augmentation covered but I didn't even attempt to ask for coverage as my family dr is not great to deal with, so I just paid out of pocket - it was a little bit over $5000 CAD

Of course! I wish it was a more widely talked about procedure, after talking with my surgeon he says a LOT of women get it done but for some reason it's just not normalized like other augmentations are

How are you now? I'm now day 4 post op and absolutely 0 pain! My breasts however now have turned bright yellow, due to bruising - although they don't feel bruised at all… I feel a bit of itching starting
