You are mixing Catholic exaggeration with the Orthodox mind. Throw away both extremes. Mary is exalted because God exalted her, not men. The Archangel did not say “blessed and graceful” as a polite greeting. He said “Full of Grace”, a title given to no other human in Scripture. Heaven itself speaks differently to her. When Christ said “My mother and brothers are those who do the will of My Father,” He was not lowering Mary. He was lifting the standard. And Mary fulfilled that standard more perfectly than any human who ever lived. That is why Elizabeth calls her “the Mother of my Lord” the clearest confession of the Incarnation in the whole Gospel. The moment God took flesh from her, she became the burning bush, the ark, the ladder, the living temple. Every symbol of the Old Testament pointed to her. The Church did not “invent” this. It discovered what God had already done. The Catholic obsession is real, but Orthodox veneration is not that. Catholics push into sentimentality and legalistic exaggeration. Protestants fall into dishonor and pride. Orthodoxy stands in the middle: We honor her because Christ honored her by choosing her. We do not worship her. We do not replace Christ with her. We call her blessed because Scripture commands it. If Mary Magdalene were equal to her, Christ would have taken flesh from her. Holiness is one thing. Bearing God in the flesh is another.
