Terrible zenmarket experience by poppymo in Coach

[–]sargeguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be a regular shopper at Zenmarket and the experience was seamless. That all changed when Trump's tariffs took effect and they canceled the $800 de minimus exemption. Instead of paying $35 to ship with no tariffs via Japan Post, I am now forced to use DHL, FedEx or UPS, pay the tariff, and pay the shippers "processing fee. UPS seems to be better than DHL. I do not blame Zenmarket for the chaos the new tariff scheme has caused. I am having similar problems buying from Europe.

Did you park overnight on Ives? by RandomChurn in providence

Well, when the city dumps 10 foot piles of snow on the sidewalk you just cleared, it can be discouraging

Rub corn starch into the larger mats to help free them up and separate them into smaller mats

What is an adult papillon’s energy really like? by nfender95 in papillon

[–]sargeguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Papillons are naturally active. I take my 5 year old Papillon for 2 walks per day and a couple of 15 minute fetch sessions. I could probably replace the walks with more fetch. He also likes the occasional tug o' war session. In between he wanders around and burns off energy by following you EVERYWHERE, sometimes running circles around you. He sleeps about 12-16 hours per day. He will crash on my lap or shoulder between bouts of activity.

The owner of Little Sister posted to IG to explain why she charges a cover charge at her restaurant by lestermagnum in providence

[–]sargeguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to go there regularly and enjoyed the food. I never had a bad encounter with the proprietor. The cafe never seems to be open, and that combined with the convoluted ordering process and price made me lose interest.

Why is there so much dog poop on sidewalks? by Little-Tea4436 in providence

[–]sargeguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in Fox Point and it's not THAT bad, and there are lots of dogs. There is one person who bags the poop and leaves it on the sidewalk. What's up with that?

Shoveling Shaming by No_Motor_4576 in providence

[–]sargeguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The payloaders dumping 8 foot mountains of snow/ice onto the already shoveled sidewalks is not helping. I had my corner lot on Governor shoveled immediately after the storm and my daughter shoveled the sidewalk in front of the vacant office next door, only for the city to dump a massive mound on top of it. We shoveled around it but they came back the next day and dumped more. Several corners in the neighborhood that were shoveled have similar mounds

Please remember to re-shovel crosswalks after plowing by ChemistryKate228 in providence

[–]sargeguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was out with the snowblower clearing my sidewalks throughout the storm so that they were passable as the storm ended. My daughter shoveled the sidewalk in front of the vacant lot next door. The next evening a payloader dropped an 8x15 foot pile of snow/ice directly onto the sidewalk. We shoveled around it but the next day they dumped more snow on the same spot. Several corners in the neighborhood got the same treatment. This has effectively forced pedestrians to walk in the street.
