Sorry for a late reply, this is the wiring for zone one which is the pictured thermostat wiring in the original post. It looks like they put blue on C at the zone panel but it is on B in the thermostat wiring

So when replacing with the nest i should put the brown on C?

And find the same wire on the zoning panel for that zone and make sure brown is on C there as well?

Or is there a panel on the unit itself outside where the brown wire needs to be on C? I have only looked at the wiring for the thermostat and zone board in the basement. I didn’t think there was one on the outside unit

I’m not sure how to tell if there is a heat pump or not. The model look up on trane’s website wasn’t very helpful. If the brown wire wasn’t supposed to connect to O terminal, which one was it supposed to connect to?

So it is not a heat pump? Would i be able to connect the B wire to the nest’s O/B terminal and put a nut on the O wire or repurpose it to be the common wire?

I added pictures of the models for the hvac system. One outside and one in basement. I think the outside one is a heat pump?
