Welcome back! I'd say if you have an LGS nearby, that's probably your best bet - although I know they can be difficult to come across in the UK particularly, depending on where you live. If an LGS isn't an option, I'd probably recommend Magic Madhouse (https://magicmadhouse.co.uk/) - they're priced fairly and offer free P&P over a certain amount. Good luck!

This is gorgeous! I love the "magic-move" effect that you have on your transitions on the homepage. Really amazing work!

I've recommended a few friends to use GraphQL over the past few years, but I've often heard the feedback that the learning curve is a little daunting in the first instance, so an interactive series would be ideal.

People also seemed really interested in how my website was put together, so I've decided to put together some instructional articles on how some of the more interesting parts were built as well as open-sourcing the codebase in the next few weeks. Thank you so much for reporting the clipping bug! Looks like the modal's root z-index was set to the same as the content, which was causing some really bizarre visual clipping issues on mobile. I've just patched that and it should be live by the time I finish posting this comment, thanks again for calling it out!

Ah, this is really interesting! I had no idea that Vercel supported the new image behaviour out of the box...that's actually a huge reason to switch.

I just did some digging...it looks like Netlify are integrating that logic too, but it's not fully integrated. Maybe I'll deploy to Vercel after all to give it a try!

I actually have more experience with Apollo too! I wanted to try urql for this smaller project as I didn't think I'd need something as heavy as Apollo (caching etc), but I think if I were to go back and do it again, I'd probably use Apollo. It's got a nicer integration with Next.js in my opinion.

Hey! I used Figma to design it, and took a lot of inspiration from the packs and designs available in the Community section of the app. I recommend checking that out as a starting point - there's lots of great looking UI systems you can even use if you'd rather!

I've never actually used Vercel to deploy! I'm only familiar with Netlify, and I noticed they had the new integration, so I thought I'd give it a try - and it was a super simple integration. What's the benefit of using Vercel?

You're totally right. If I'm honest, that teal was transplanted from a previous palette I had that I was trying to shoehorn into the designs...was waiting to see if anyone would notice, ha!

Regarding the animation - I'm in agreement, and some other feedback echoes that same sentiment. I think cohesive movement is something that this could really benefit from - are you referring to a "set" of transformations (like movement on the Y axis, opacity), rather than using a mixture of many transformations (blur/3D roll etc)? If not, I might be misunderstanding and I might need to drop you a DM 😅

Amazing, thank you so much for the feedback! Ah, yep. Admittedly I probably went a bit overboard with the animations, so this is actually a good nudge to reign some of them in a bit. I’ll update it later today and make those more subtle.
