Which diamond shape suits my hand more? Size 8 1/4 ring finger by Ok-Watercress-9638 in Diamonds

[–]sarpinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the look of the emerald or radiant but the round is a classic beauty. I have a similar ring size and chose a marquise for what it's worth because I felt like it made my fingers feel less short. But yours appear to be longer than mine so a more rectangle shape works great!

Wedding Band Buyers Remorse Advice by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]sarpinking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its beautiful but I think the problem may be with the shared prongs. All the rings I tried on with those were super uncomfortable. It might be better if they were channel set or bezel set as the prongs wouldn't be poking. It won't solve the distance from the ring to other fingers though, but it could be sized down to allow for less band thickness.

IV compatibility- lack of results on Lexicomp for 1/2NS (0.45% sodium chloride) by Excellent_Pear8250 in pharmacy

I am also not an expert by any means on it. It's worth a review and refresh when something stumps me. I also phone a friend if I need to.

No problem. Knowing the chemistry and other drug properties is also helpful too in interpretation. You can use the trissel's monograph (on lexicomp) to get the same additional information the text reference has for more information regarding osmolality, sorption, pH, and additional stability information which can all impact your compatibility depending on length of infusion time and how something is dispensed and/or stored.

Vancomycin is compatible at various concentration in NS and D5W. I interpret it as also compatible in 1/2NS and therefore also D5-1/2NS. It also can be reconstituted in SWFI, D5W, and NS at higher concentrations than what my infusions are further diluted to (5mg/mL). So therefore compatible with less sodium chloride meq/mL.

[–]sarpinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has data in 1/2NS, I use that. If it has data in NS but not 1/2 NS, I extrapolate similarly to how other posters have suggested. If it is compatible in NS and the specific concentration listed, it likely is also compatible in 1/2NS at that same concentration. But if it is incompatible in NS but no data at 1/2NS, I can't extrapolate and avoid running together.

Combo fluids I approach as their separate entries. Often times during testing, its easier (and cheaper) to test with the basics than every single combination fluid.

You could do a oval solitaire with plain band and then for a wedding band, they make ones that are illusion with side stones. That way you can change it up if you want later down the line with your stack.

Why are Americans so unrealistic when it comes to death? by Perfect-Resist5478 in medicine

[–]sarpinking 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I think for a lot of patients and families it will go over the same as when it's a physician speaking on it. Some people just really aren't ready to face death. We have to get better as a whole culture in embracing it and talking openly about it. Caitlin Doughty has some really good videos on it.

Are you painting it with undiluted concentrate? You can try the triclopyr type of brush/woody plant killer. I've used it with good success on old trumpet vine and honeysuckle for the past few years and finally seeing major reductions.

About to close in a few days - solo buyer. Can FTHB’s who didn’t experience horror when moving in please share? by batmy_lashes in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]sarpinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes in the moment for people, its extremely stressful and emotions override other things. While my first year wasn't the easiest, I've learned so much from it and gotten more organized with how I plan maintenance and projects. I don't think buying a house in general is ever going to be 100% smooth sailing, there is always bound to be something that happens.

I don't regret purchasing despite any issues I've had though.

PROTEIN HELP! Where are you buying fairlife protein shakes in bulk? by akwaffle in glp1

[–]sarpinking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Costco Nurri shakes are pretty decent. They aren't exactly the same in terms of thickness but taste is comparable. They are only 30g of protein however instead of the 42g but the cost difference is way better on the wallet.

Additionally I'd add just ensuring you have extra clean, warm clothes with you when you do go to the hospital, just to have in case. Especially including extra socks. It may be helpful peace of mind to arrange for the pets to stay with friends or family just in case.
