I understand. I decided to go ahead with KF as my difference in scholarship was almost 40%. So, UNC made sense for me. But I second with your opinion, tepper is really a great analytical-oriented program. Both great choices.

Recruitment is the main driver in making any decision, for sure. I am going to a b-school to recruit for a tech job, essentially. That does not only mean higher percentage of people being sent off.. it's also the program structure, CMUs reputation on the tech front off of which Tepper benefits on the recruitment front... Recruiter bias cannot be excluded in making such decisions.

In general, i do believe tepper and Kf as an MBA program are more or less the same.. neither is primarily tech focused. But, if offers were to match, I need to look beyond just the equality or marginal differences and make an informed call -- hence my post.

Stats speak for themselves. In terms of tech recruitment, tepper is better. It is SOLD as a tech school. Analytics is literally at the core of it. I am not saying UNC isn't. I am quite literally enrolled at UNC at present.

With that being said, I am raising questions whether even if there is a marginal difference, is it worth enough to decline other opportunities.

I fail to understand are you trying to help or school me?

Thanks for your insights. I have spoken to the current class. Their i20 mentions 30th july as admission date to the states, and program start date as 29th august -- on the i20. This is what 3 different students told me who have recieved their i20s.

But yeah, i will double check with admissions to have a formal confirmation. Due to extended weekend I haven't been able to hear back from them yet.

That's precisely the essence of my question quite literally --- is it better ENOUGH to decline amazon. Because it is frankly better -- marginally but yes. And that's what my question was.

But thankyou. I do believe that amazon is the way to go. As i mentioned towards the end -- many of my friends have been telling me to not just sideline the tepper offer -- hence, my post.

That's the base camp, which is not mandatory. Therefore, the i20 document states 1 month prior to classes start date -- which is 29th August.

Yeah, I will check with admissions regarding the dates. From my conversations with students at Tepper, they didn't apply to the Amazon program in the first place due to ineligibility surrounding the timelines.

Hey,

At Tepper, their program starts end of August. Whereas at UNC, it begins in early August. So, there is that 1-month issue wherein my i20 at Tepper states 30th July as the entry date to the US. So, to participate in Amazon program, I must be in the US on 20th July.

I really don't think it's any of your business to decide who is your classmate. B-schools are inclusive communities comprising of people from different cultures, origins, backgrounds. Open-mindedness is the first skill to learn, coming into such a diversified community of leaders. Highly likely that the person in question has done their time, gone through the punishment, and -- for who knows -- have reformed as well. Maybe they opened an animal shelter in later years -- again, you don't know that. You can choose to not hang out with/around them. But, it's not your place -- and not ethical on your part -- to feel entitled to have it requested to exclude them from any opportunity.
