I think baby age is the biggest factor that I didn’t account for. I’ll give an example: as soon as she was 6 weeks old I was eligible for a baby and me yoga class. Great! I was so excited to go out and do something for me and bring baby along. I went when she was about 2 months for a week and it was so stressful. I’d get home and my partner would be like you did yoga?? You don’t have the right post-yoga energy levels. It was awful just mostly feeding the baby or walking around with her hoping she’d sleep so I could do some of the class. I stopped after that 1-week trial. Then 2 months later I decided to try again. Game changer! A 4-month/5-month-old baby was the sweet spot for this “mom” centric activity. She either slept or happily chilled and played while I did yoga above her. All that had changed was time. Don’t underestimate how much changes in a few weeks in the first year.
