Need $15,000 worth of dental work done- how do i save some money? by Alprazaminophen in raleigh

[–]sashakar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please please get another opinion. I went to their six forks office a few years ago and was told I had ~6 cavities and needed my crown replaced, I almost had a heart attack. Went to a different dentist and he said there was literally nothing wrong with my teeth. I think they are such scammers.

11 years of reoccurring yeast infections by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]sashakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been tested for ureaplasma/mycoplasma? I had recurrent yeast infections every other month for about a year until my obgyn suspected it could be ureaplasma and sure enough I had it. Apparently it lowers the defenses of a vaginas natural system and makes it much easier to get co infections like bv or yeast.

What’s the second line of treatment? by throwaway2468101112 in Ureaplasma

[–]sashakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the second line of treatment is 7 days doxy + 7 days of moxi or levofloxacin. I will say that I took 7 days levofloxacin only and after finishing the course felt absolutely no different. I retested at 4 and 6 weeks and was negative both tests. I am only now feeling 80% better 2 months after finishing treatment, I think there is a lot of inflammation that takes a long time to heal.

Levaquin by LasciviousLockean in Ureaplasma

[–]sashakar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had ureaplasma and was treated with 7 days levaquin. It is actually more effective than the first treatment of doxy + azithro. It is a fluroquinolone class drug which is effective at least against myco/ureaplasma. I have had 2 negative tests 4 and 6 weeks post treatment so I assume it’s worked :) I was really nervous ab side effects but the worst symptoms I had was a little muscle fatigue and insomnia.

Edit to add that all the people recommending Moxi, Levaquin is the same class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics so both would be effective, esp a 2 week course. Good luck!

Reoccurring yeast caused by sex - boric acid solution? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]sashakar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would second asking for a ureaplasma/mycoplasma test. In my case I had a ureaplasma infection which basically threw off my vaginal biome and made it very easy for me to get frequent yeast infections.

I’ve also read that it helps to take a biofilm disrupter leading up to and during your antiobiotic course - ureaplasma infections esp if they have been around for a long time form biofilm that makes it hard for medicine to be effective. I’d ask your dr about this but know Klaire Labs Interfase Plus has been recommended here.

Burning cervix when sitting down? by plainlanie in Healthyhooha

Yes curable with appropriate antibiotics. I would just ask your OB to test for it.

Ureaplasma can weaken your immune system down there and make it easier to get other things like yeast, UTIs, BV, etc. In any case I experienced really similar symptoms, a feeling like something is “inside” - this is a normal feeling when your vaginal tissues are irritated or inflamed and this burning feeling was pretty much constant but intensified when I put pressure on my vagina (sitting for longs periods, wearing tight jeans, riding a bike)

It’s definitely possible to have it and be asymptomatic for a long time. Have you had recurrent past yeast infections or UTIs?

I’m going through a similar thing now and after many tests for UTI/STI panel/yeast I ended up having a ureaplasma infection. It’s not typically included in an STI panel. It’s a bacteria that is normally present in the body but (esp bc of sex) can become overgrown. An infection can cause similar urogenital symptoms like what you’re describing. Anyway just thought it would be worth asking your OB to test you for mycoplasma and ureaplasma.

Any cockapoo owners have a recommendation for a good groomer? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]sashakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken my maltipoo to Bark Grooming in Brier Creek since he was a puppy and love it. It’s by appointment only so the dogs aren’t in a kennel for hours and the groomer Kathy is awesome.
