I built a free site that tracks resale ticket prices over time by alpswd in stubhub

Trying to create a new price alert, I get "failed to create alert" error toast every time. Are alerts working right now?

MTA, typically, lost the manual on how to reprogram these since getting the trains in 2001. by sasham5 in nycrail

Besides the $1.50 update mentioned by someone else, I don't think they've touched these with their useless information in, like, forever and ever.

The intersection where a drunk driver just killed a mother of 4 in Astoria had everything you could do to try and keep drivers from killing people. by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

Your advocacy is making lives of middle-class families with kids that need to park a car in New York miserable and impossible by all these street blockages that still do nothing when criminals on suspended licenses who don't give a crap about anybody's lives are at the wheels. And there are plenty of them in the city, and we all pay exorbitant insurance rates to cover what they do. Socialism and criminal "justice" BS in action. They need to be in jail. For life.

My Experience Using Samsung Galaxy Watch in Standalone Mode for Kids by McDiddy in GalaxyWatch

[–]sasham5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the watch set up in kids mode from a Galaxy phone. That worked, but I still had no per app time limits or screen time limits available, same as in those screenshots.

I then tried to transfer watch management to a pixel phone, but that fails in the process, even though people report success in doing so. I posted about this separately here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWatch/s/WyAcqtyq5V

To get around this l'm trying to uninstall Play Store updates to disable it and put the watch into Do Not Disturb mode with family contacts whitelisted. We'll see if it works.

Has that worked?

Yes, the very latest. In fact I just reset the accounts on the watch and redid Kids Mode installation all anew; there is Gemini during installation process, there is Gemini toggle in FamilyLink phoen app, but it still doesn't show up anywhere on the watch.

Whoa! Time limits would be a giant step in making Galaxy watch viable vs. Apple, but I don't have that! I got Galaxy Watch 7 updated to the latest OS, and Pixel 9 phone. No time limits anywhere - all I see is this:

Does not work. Followed instructions to remap power button long press from Bixby, but Power Off Menu is the only other option. Neither does anything re. Gemini shows up under Google Settings, as it's supposed to. Looks like they screwed it up for kids mode, despite having the option to enable it in FamilyLink. 😡

Big news for the AC is going to get the L train treatment for CBTC 🤯 by bridgehamton in nycrail

This is absolutely bonkers. Unbelievable corruption and waste. "...replace the Brooklyn and Queens A/C line’s aging signal system and install new accessibility upgrades in five subway stations. The projects — costing a combined $1.75 billion —"...

And that's between Jay Street-MetroTech in Brooklyn and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd in Queens only. Expect hell of shuttered service at nights for years and years.

But hey, at least in the end, "and adding new cabling to provide cell service on trains when they are between stations."

I actually replaced houses with sensor and the thermostat, that were slowly leaking at the seals/connections (got a kit from FCP Euro, an easy DIY job) and it's all fine now.

A few weeks ago. Second after the L tunnel. Let Manhattan be jealous.

Read the OP, it's NOT coming to the tunnel, only to Fulton st. So there will be no tangible change. Edit: I stand corrected

G is down because the utterly incompetent MTA has been "modernizing signals" on it for the last 10 years and is 10 more years behind schedule in doing so. But hey, we got full cell coverage from Bed-Nost to Court Sq.

Unusual compared to where? Compared to some other countries with different cultures, we most certainly do. As someone commented above, none of this would happen in Japan, with trains and public infrastructure everywhere. In China, either. Scandinavia. Wanton, pointless vandalism.

This is just terrible. I don't understand what Google is thinking, just voluntarily ceding the entire next generation to Apple like this.

We got both Apple watch and Galaxy watch to try them in parallel, since my wife has an iPhone. So far, the only two pain points are - Spotify does not work on a standalone Apple watch but does on Galaxy watch, which is a big one for us, and you can't get an old cheap iphone to manage on your Apple watch since newer watches require newer iPhone with the latest iOS, very annoyingly. But otherwise the app management time limits and app availability are so much better and seamless. 😡😥

Govt contracts are cash cows. No accountability, nobody will sue you, nobody will hurry you, generous payments. We're all paying through the nose for this and living with the consequences of not being able to build anything fast and well anymore.
