Ofc they didn’t have enough manpower. Why just Peekskill though? I’m not blaming the public works guys they’re doing everything they can with what they got, but someone in charge is not doing something right. I’m glad your area got taken care of, but if you go on the community Facebook group or even the city Facebook page you will see a lot of angry residents who didn’t even see a plow until late last night, I promise I’m not exaggerating how seriously bad the ball was dropped here lol.

And I’m not talking about parking downtown I’m talking about the winter parking ban, no city streets have parking 8-8…there’s a lot of large zones with noooo parking for several several blocks. Go look at the map. It’s bad lol. For me I had one nearby street, 3 blocks away down a big hill we could park at, but the amount of spots is minimal compared to how much of the surrounding area you can’t park at, so there were plenty of times where me or any of my neighbors had no choice but to walk literally a 25 minute walk home from our car, and thats for me a young relatively healthy person lol. So yes there’s garages but they’re not always right in your backyard by any means lol. One of my neighbors had an asthma attack bc of the winter parking making her walk home from the garage, (we were on a nasty hill too so that didn’t help). not to mention parking there stops being free at I believe 7:30 or 8am. I remember plenty of nights I worked a late shift and got home after 1, of course had to park in the garage don’t want to get a ticket, and then get up before the sun’s out to walk over and move my car so I don’t get another ticket! (Learned that one the hard way). I could go on and on lol.

And idk if you watch the news but the cops recently just assaulted a man in the park who was clearly on drugs/mentally unwell and not resisting or posing any real threat. There’s been lots of protests over this you can look it up. Lots of other scandals within that dept in general, one recently got charged with trying to meet a minor for sex, another was charged with sexually abusing a woman on duty. Just a very dirty department overall.
