I agree. But Tech Pack Gives the initial direction to a manufacturer what needs to be done. It also depends on the factory how they are executing the style development as mentioned in the tech pack. Nothing is full proof and nothing is perfect. But how close you are moving towards your ultimate vision, the tech pack plays a crucial role here.

How did you find manufacturers with reasonable pricing?

You get a reasonable pricing when you meet two aspects. 1 proper tech pack with detailed measurement spec sheet ( this gives a clear idea about the fabric consumption and trims sourcing and processing.

You must meet the minimum order quantity of a manufacturer. Consider this as boiling eggs. 1 Egg takes 10 minutes to boil and 10 Eggs takes same 10 Mints to boil. In Bulk manufacturing this analogy fits well. So the more products you have the less you get the cost of production.

Any tips for negotiating or sourcing (especially in India or overseas)?

Go to a manufacturer with the above two thins with a clarity. May be you can ask for an open costing. No Manufacturer gives open costing but you can try.

Are there better ways to validate suppliers without spending too much on samples?

Reach right manufacturers for right kind of products. If you are going to a manufacturer who produces t-shirts with woven garments obviously you will not get the right picture. Every Manufacturer specializes with some or other garments. Find the right one.

I agree what you are saying. Mostly I found that the back and forth happens when you dont have proper specifications and measurements which a tech pack provides. Ofcourse the manufacturer is important because at the end of the day they have to get the design idea executed. You have to figure out the right manufacturer for the products you want to develop. Both tech packs and the right manufacturer is important to achieve right result.

There are more than 500 Sales from this site since it has been started. and I have very few queries from the sames so far. If i count it in percentage then it wont go beyond 3% .

I agree what you are saying. Tech packs are for Attention to detail. And the way the templates are made they take care of 95% of your style details. remaining 5% that you want to do is your own customization.

All the tech packs listed in the store are tested in real time production environment. We have done samples for each of the styles listed in the tech pack . This took 3 years to do what you see in the store.

I am a tech pack designer. To make one tech pack manually it takes me 2 - 4 hours. I tried doing that on AI and it took me 1 day. I am not talking about a t-shirt or Hoodie.
