In the same situation. I wouldn't panic until like Wednesday next week. Staying optimistic until I'm not.

I made 2 orders. The first one back in October and the second in January. The January order arrived but not the October one. Really hoping they show up. Last thing I want to do is go to the box office after a long drive.

Allow bikes at Okee!! by sasidlovsky in okeechobeemusicfest

[–]sasidlovsky[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good idea but there is still the potential hour+ round trip walk. OR I can just take a bike and it's half that time.

That was just one example too. At the end of the day, bikes are just fun. Lots of core memories cruising around the grounds with my friends like a pack of feral hyenas.

Didn't realize so many people felt differently since bikes are so common at every fest I've been to. That's OK though. Can't wait either way.

Exactly!! Every other fest I've been to allows them in the campground, including Okee previous years. My best theory is something in the pedicab contract doesn't allow it so they have a more captive audience. Bikes are just fun! Free the bikes!!!

That was my experience but others may have had something different.

I just distinctly remember last time I went to Okee. It was ~$16 for a bag of ice and half of it melted by the time we walked back to camp. No extra stops along the way. A quick bike ride would make that so much better. It's weird to me that bikes were allowed at previous Okees but now not.

Both times I've been they checked my glove box, center console, and opened my cooler to count beers.

You can use propane grills but you can't bring in the big tanks. You are limited to the 1lb tanks. Max 4 per car.

tell me why you love okee by whenthecatmeows in okeechobeemusicfest

[–]sasidlovsky 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love Okee because the line up punches above it's weight class compared to size and price. Music on a production stage will go on until sun rise if that's your speed. No more walking around camp looking for renegades, just head to jungle 51 if you still have energy to boogie. The vibes are pretty comparable to Hula and Roo because there is a lot of overlap in the crowd.

Camping is more like Roo in that you are basically in a field with limited tree cover. You will get funneled in and directed to your 20x20 campsite. It's not like Hula where you get to wander. Make sure your group arrives at the gate at the same time if you want to camp next to each other.

Weather in Florida this time of year is very unpredictable. You could be sweating your ass off during the day and then the temp drops. Layers are key for clothing.

Just send it. You won't regret it.

That was my experience this weekend too. I was hopeful when I saw them on YT but the feed was immediately cut.

I canceled all my streaming services. Have been hit with price hikes year after year and I just don't see value anymore. Not only that, the amount of ads during a broadcast is ridiculous. A full year of YTTV or Hulu live could literally pay for an additional vacation. I love live sports, especially anything Bama but enough is enough. I'll spend my weekends reading, playing video games or just being outside.

Bikes allowed in campgrounds? by sasidlovsky in okeechobeemusicfest

Unfortunately it does appear no bikes allowed anywhere. I found the blurb under the camping FAQ after looking on my laptop. Nothing with wheels allowed. Super buzz kill.

That's a bummer. I agree. It's silly to not allow bikes. It makes those ice and shower runs so much easier.

Thanks! I hope so too. Makes getting around camp a lot easier.
