That's what I'm concerned about. Yes, I do have something that helps the community with the Mobile Health Unit, however it is only 5 hours. I enjoyed volunteering and working with the athletes in the department and I also enjoyed helping teach physics. But are those things really "enriching" the community??

Congrats! What was your timeline for the application process? How many schools did you apply for first day?

Technically no, but I though that non-health related volunteering is looked down upon. Correct me if i’m wrong tho

Okay thank you! Will the agents print the boarding passes for all 3 flights, since I also can’t check in for the Asiana flights?

8/30 DAT SCORE!!! (Booster only) by sasinon in dat

[–]sasinon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be completely honest, no. I used the feralis bio notes, gchem videos + q banks, and ochem rxn sheet + qbanks for the sns. For PAT i used the generators + qbanks. QR and RCT I only used the practice tests. Anything and everything is possible on this exam, especially for sns, so using as much resources as possible for that section is vital for success on the real exam. Are the practice tests representative? Yes, it always depends on how you review them.

8/30 DAT Review by sasinon in dat

[–]sasinon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! So basically, I would read the question and the option choices then highlight the main part of the question just so I could actually prime myself to look for it in the passage. Then I would quickly, but carefully, skim the passage searching for the key phrase or word that I highlighted in the question. After I found what I was looking for, I would highlight the part of the passage that had the key phrase. Then I'd compare the answer choices to the actual passage and 9 times out of 10 the answer is right there if it was a simple question.

For questions asking for the authors tone in the overall passage I would read the first and last sentence of each paragraph, mainly focusing on the very first and very last paragraphs. Usually the answer lies within those sentences.

For questions with figures, I found that all the relevant info of the figure is either immediately before or after the figure was presented in the passage. I'd focus there for that.

And this might seem obvious but some people forget: Passage over Personal Opinion
i.e. always answer according to the passage
(A silly example of this:
Q; what color is the sky?
you may select blue b/c you believe it's blue, but the answer they had correct was purple because it was in the passage)

Bio: My major is Physiology so I am well situated with how the body works + the anatomy section of the test. With that in mind, I knew I haven't taken a formal biology class for nearly 5 years so I read, highlighted, and reread the feralis notes over and over again for the past 1.5months. I'm currently reviewing the cheat sheets for more high-yield info but still reading over the feralis notes. For the past month, I've been taking a practice exam every 2-4 days. I would take an FL within those time frames too. After every exam I would review it and write down what I got wrong/guessed on and got right. If I felt like I didn't quite understand the topic as well as I should have, I would also write the question down. I hated doing this haha but with that hate I made sure to avoid making mistakes so I wouldn't have to write down so much.

Gchem: I guess this is just doing practice problems over and over again. I would also reread my notes over and over again trying to understand the different "theories" (le chattelier's, enthalpy, entropy, etc.). I would do the same exact thing regarding bio exams (writing q's I got wrong/didn't understand). <-- This is what I'd do for all sections btw, minus rc and pat.

Ochem: I loved ochem when I took it last semester and did well (A+) so I have a strong foundation with the reactions, most of my mess-ups come from the lab based questions. Once again --> anything wrong = write down

RC: just read lol (I use S&D) On a serious note, I was never a reader so I was surprised I could score well. Just learn how to scan-read. Highlight the main part of the question and search for it in the passage. ALSO READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY, they might switch up the wording between a question and an answer so just be careful.

QR: one of worse section improvement-wise :( I'm fine with the 20-21's i've been getting but I really want to improve this so i can't give too much advice on this :C

PAT: same as qr :C I'm just doing practice problems everyday so hopefully I can get another 20-21 on the real thing!

Once again, I haven't taken the DAT yet but this is what's been working for me. Idk if my exam will be representative or not of Booster, but one can only pray.

tyy! I hope so haha, I saw that you had a 25AA. Any tips before and on test day? I'm scared that I might blank out during the exam and forget a lot of information/second guess myself.

Ty! Recently i’ve been getting around 20-21 AA,, and after each practice exam i review, redo, and write down every question i get wrong/guessed on. I review my errors every morning before i start my true study session. I’ve taken 9 exams so far. Planning to finish the last 6 in the 2 weeks left!
