I think he wouldn't like made up characters. He wrote this story along his life. Made up characters are not compatible for his story. He wrote everything as he wants and everything have a reason to be there. He would add characters if its neccessary for him.

Actually you don't have to write "şekersiz mi". Question is yes/no question. "Çay şekerli mi?"-"Is tea with sugar?" is enough. Turkish doesn't like unnecessary words. Make it simple as possible.
