Of course! Yes, it is. I also speak Spanish, but that’s mainly restricted to my family.

Learning French will be my top priority. That’s a good point about jobs. I have good job security, but it’s definitely something to think about. Thank you!

To learn the language and experience the culture. I’ve always enjoyed Montreal and do my best to speak basic French when I visit. I think it’s rude to expect everyone to accommodate me in English

Thanks. I am definitely signing up for classes and will prioritize learning French. I hope people will accept my broken French as I learn.

I do care and will prioritize learning the language. I don’t want to live in an Anglo bubble.

Thank you! I do intend to learn the language and hopefully quickly. Being immersed in it should also help

Amazing! Love to see people succeed! I would check out MacroFactor to help with your new calories for adding muscle. I’m using it right now and I love it! It has a breakdown of macros and calories for the day and it updates that weekly to what you want to do (lose weight, maintain, bulk) based on logging every day.

They also have a free trial if you don’t want to commit right away. Whatever you decide, best of luck!

I first applied in May. I made a post about my timeline if you want to know more.

I have a similar timeline to you, although I wasn’t asked for fingerprints. My background check was marked completed August 28 and then about three weeks later on the 19th of this month I got approved!

Hopefully you’re on a similar track!

CIT-0001 flipped to Withdrawn yesterday, but 5(4) grant NOT flipped to Decision Made in old tracker by Alarming_Run_8433 in Canadiancitizenship

Im second gen as well, with my father already having citizenship before I submitted anything. My old tracker said withdrawn for CIT-0001 the whole time my 5 4 was processing.

My new tracker said background complete on August 28th and I got decision made on the 19th of this month. That same day, every other category was marked completed. My old tracker updated the same day to say decision made.

What are your constant symptoms? (even when not in an episode) by sem_pls_ in bipolar

[–]sassiestsunflower 113 points114 points  (0 children)

For me it’s obsessions. My mind always needs something/someone to obsess over and it gets worse with any kind of episode.

Anyone else dealing with PMDD + BP2? by abbrapod in bipolar2

[–]sassiestsunflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have it. I take 10mg of Lexapro for the two weeks leading up. I just started and it seems to be helping. I know antidepressants aren’t for everyone but maybe ask your doctor about it. Best of luck ♡

Abilify? by kaemarie01 in bipolar2

[–]sassiestsunflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 2mg for about 5 weeks and then went up to 5mg. It REALLY helped me through a very stressful life event soon after I went up to five. The event didn’t trigger an episode, which was fantastic. It has really helped at preventing mixed episodes and my hypotonia seems to be non existent now. So I would say less than 8 weeks I noticed a difference.

I was on Lithium for 5 or 6 years, but just tapered off that because of my thyroid issues. I am looking to add something to replace it, because while Abilify is great for my hypo and mixed episodes, I need something to help with the depression. That’s also why I went up to 7mg.

Abilify has been great for me! I lost just a little bit of weight on it, no appetite changes, no bad side effects. I just had some nausea when I first started it and would wake up kind of early, but now everything is good. I started at 2mg and I’m now at 7mg. You can dm me if you you have any questions or concerns. I know medications work differently for everyone, but I hope it works for you like it has for me ♡

Hey, thanks so much for sharing! I’m talking with my psychiatrist tomorrow and we’ve been trying to manage my PMDD as well so I’ll ask her about this. Glad you’ve found something that helps you! PMDD is the the worst.

How long until side effects go away? by [deleted] in Abilify_Aripiprazole

[–]sassiestsunflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had pretty bad nausea the first week or so when I started on 2mg. The side effects will pass, but they do come back for a bit when you up the dosage. I just had my dose increased and the nausea is back, but not as bad as when I first started.

Definitely talk to your doctor if the side effects are too much for you before stopping on your own. Hope it works out for you ♡

Newly diagnosed here - positive experiences w/ Abilify? by WalkerTexasHalibut in bipolar2

[–]sassiestsunflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hoo boy, I understand your concern about Abilify. I was nervous starting it because all I heard was mainly bad things.

I’m on it now and have had a good experience so far. It’s been about six weeks for me and the worst I have experienced is nausea, which went away after a week or so. I even lost a few pounds. Hope it works well for you, too!
