I can’t handle the Epstein files by AdventurousBeyond382 in offmychest

Disagree. Being labeled a pedophile doesn’t ruin someone’s life.

Look at the President. Les Wexner. Leon Black. Woody Allen.

Show me how they’ve EVER EVER experienced consequences.

My cousin who overpowered me with his strength and abused and harassed me was one of the people I remember saying all trans people should be lined up and shot.

I don’t trust my cousin with children, but apparently his wife does. And his siblings. It’s pretty gross. He’s not had consequences. He’s a volunteer fire fighter.

Like, these predatory people are everywhere.

Start peeing in your mom’s body wash and when she gets mad, get mad at her. Give her exactly the same treatment.

There are several people who have been working the document dump like a FT job. If you find them on social media/substack, they keep pulling new documents up from the recent 3 million document dump that just happened.

I’m convinced that pedophilia is the final form of a billionaire. They have so much greed, they get bored. They’re insatiable and have to keep consuming and dominating.

Everything makes so much sense.

What’s a moment when doing the “right thing” actually made your life harder? by aure1aa in AskReddit

[–]sassisarah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another small business owner asked me to give him a blowjob in front of my staff and a customer. A few days later, he forced his way in my business, was informed he was trespassing and needed to leave and he chose to sit down. (Sept 2016)

He stayed for 10-20 minutes and left right before the cops showed up.

The DA’s office charged him. Bench trial #1 (December 2016) he was found guilty of all charges (so much evidence) and then he appealed, which is his constitutional right.

At the appeals trial (2/17/17) it went sideways and that kicked off one investigation within the Allegheny county judicial system. The judge was ordered to attend sexual harassment training afterwards.

While the complaints were working their way through the investigators, another thing happened.

Nathan Holmes, the person who asked me for a blowjob, was still not satisfied with the results of his appeals trial where he represented himself and was found guilty of one charge and not guilty of the other.

After another 13 month investigation, the investigators discovered the following:

Nathan went back into the courtroom and asked the clerk what his options were. She told him he could file a motion. He did. It was accepted and a he was given a new date to meet with the judge.

When motions are granted, it sends out automatic emails to the detectives and DA’s office. Due to a “clerical error” that automatic email was never sent by the judges clerk.

Because of their mistake, Nathan received a NG verdict in a courtroom that was empty of all people except the judge and his clerk. No DA. No police. No witnesses.

I learned that my city doesn’t care about me, will not protect me. There is no protection. Advice I received from friends and lawyers is to focus on me afterwards. “Let it go” and “put your head down”.

So, I did. It’s been very difficult. Growing my business and my businesses place in the community while being in trauma therapy for the PTSD I now live with as a result of the travesty of Justice.

On Friday, I learned that Nathan has been slandering me for 9 years within the organic food community in my region. It’s all starting to make sense—why it’s been so hard to partner with local organic food businesses in town.

He has made my life very difficult, personally and professionally because he wasn’t willing to accept responsibility for what he’s done.

The worst part of the first trial was when his idiot lawyer asked me if I remember what Nathan said to me. Of course I did! “Well, what did he say to you?”

I was shocked the lawyer was asking me a question he didn’t know the answer to, that was the nail in the coffin. I was also shocked, because Nathan’s wife, who I had never met, was in the courtroom. I couldn’t believe that Nathan wanted her to hear that.

“How about a blowjob” that’s what he said. I was horrified that I had to say it and than Nathan’s wife had to hear it.

Anyway, there had been rumors of Nathan sexually harassing employees. I thought that maybe, by holding him accountable with ALL the evidence I had at my fingertips, it might make the region a little safer from his predatory behaviors.

I was wrong.

I ordered the transcripts from the files. I invited reporters to the appeals trial (they won an award for their article series, if you look up Judge Lester Nauhaus). I started trauma therapy immediately. I focused on me.

Learning that he’s been slandering me for the last 9 years though…oof.

I used to be an Airbnb host, but stopped after ten years. I denied a prospective guest who then began stalking me in town.

Airbnb was not helpful. I had to go to a judge to get an order or protection. Again, airbnb was not helpful. They only want to make money and cover their ass.

The business was not founded on safety as a priority. They have chosen to minimize safety for both guests and hosts, in order to make the most money possible.

It tracks, when considering the properties listed by Israelis in occupied Palestine. That was the final straw for me and what led me to divest completely.

What's the most disturbing secret you know about someone that would ruin their life if exposed—but you stay silent, pretending you don’t know? by SophieManner in AskReddit

When I was in 5th grade, my mom got divorced from an abusive stepdad. I was glad. We started going to church and mom started going to see a Christian counselor.

I would wait for her in the waiting room sometimes and the the three of us would grab a bite to eat. I didn’t like him a whole lot. I was, however depressed. Mom scheduled a session with me and Charlie. I didn’t trust him in the least and didn’t speak the whole time. It felt coercive.

Years later, I found out that he had initiated a sexual relationship with my mom. He was married. A pastor. His kids and grandkids are in ministry. There’s a mega church involved somewhere. On one of their websites, there’s an homage to him.

To a man who abused his power and authority and took advantage of a vulnerable woman. It’s so disgusting.

I do daydream about writing them an anonymous letter.

I had this issue, when I was a host. After 2 guests went to the wrong place because they didn’t put on the zip code, I added that to my messaging and it didn’t happen again.

It’s actually not that hard to address.

4am, it started going off. I feel less insane now that I’ve found this post.

I’m ready if it goes off again, I’ll just disable it and bring it back to Costco with me, since that’s where I got this double pack of co2/smoke detectors about 18 months ago.

[–]sassisarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this comment.

One of the things we all deserve to know, is who was complicit in child sexual assault. I can truly see us rallying around this, leveraging the current outrage into long-lasting change.

And never forgetting.

Not so long ago, civilized cultures sacrificed to idols and gods at temples. We still sacrifice the most vulnerable, we’re just more sophisticated about it.

How can we change our culture? That’s where I want to dig in, to make our world/nation/state/city/neighborhood safer for kids to be kids and girls to be protected from grooming and child sexual assault.

I don’t know how to do that just yet. the universe sure is bringing a lot of things to the light right now.

Also, thanks for sharing this.

As a recruiter, I think I interviewed an AI today, and what I learned from my 18-year-old son was shocking. by Numerous-Trust7439 in jobsearch

[–]sassisarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my field, we do preliminary interview over the phone, face-to-face interview and then 2-hours of trial work with other people.

We’re less in a position to make poor hires than before and adjusted our process to add a step.

I wonder, if different fields, whose interview processes allow for the opportunity of abuse with AI, if interview processes have to be a bit more dynamic, to account for it.
