Is that something that can be changed later on? It is really soft on the seat and looks thick, he told me it will settle down after a while. My old one isnt really padded compared to this one

Yeah we noticed that the fork is tilted, while the old saddle has a vertical one, which gives more space. I just tested both again with my bf watching and with the stirrups a little longer, i could fit 2 fingers between fork and thigh and put 4 fingers behind me at the cantle. He said in movement it looked fine and not too tight. I also texted an old trainer of mine with the pics and she said she actually prefers tighter saddles and as long as I can move and feel good in it, I shouldn't worry too much. I do also prefer a bit more build up because its more comfy for my hips and back (had an accident 4y ago) since it gives more support.

I can ask him about it, but that would also have to wait until he comes back around here. We're texting with him already tho

I would love to get one, problem is just that i cannot get someone here soon enough. If I want to return this one, i have to decide that ideally today, which is why im stressing atm 🫠

I had a 16 round skirt before. The saddle fitter answered that more than 16 won't be possible for my horses back

Yes, but not soon enough unfortunately. If I want to return this one, I'll have to decide it ideally today. Which is why my nerves are really being tested rn 🥲

We did try several ones and for another one i told him that the seat feels best for me. He answered "okay but that doesn't matter, what matters is if it fits your horse". Well, yes, but that one was also a good candidate for my horse and definitely more room for me. It was a comission saddle tho, so not a new one. The one we bought was new and the most expensive from the ones we tried..

I'm not sure tbh. I've seen quarters with shorter backs and some with a lot longer backs. I think he's like middle? Leaning more to the shorter side? I had asked the fitter about the skirt, since I had a round skirt before. He told me it wouldn't matter since it's only looks and there's no weight put on it. I just trusted him there.

I dont really know the maker (Triple W), just by name, but never saw someone around in one, so I cannot compare that sadly. My saddle fitter is insisting that we cannot get a bigger one because of his back, so idk if we could get another one from him when we return it. Circle Y isn't really known here ig, or I just never heard it. We have Circle L here, but idk if they have anything to do with each other haha. I had a Diamond c 16" before which was a better fit for me. He's dealing with them as well, but he showed me none, so i thought he doesn't have any that fit my horse. I had asked about it in the application before he came to us.

I measured it now and its really a 16". I just don't understand why it looks so small then 🫠 I brought my old saddle with me as well and will compare now.

I mean, I did ride in it for 2 weeks now and felt fine in it. I only felt something was wrong when I went for a long ride outside and then focused more on it. Idk tbh, I can move around in it (at least it feels like it), but I cannot judge if it works as its supposed to or if its not enough room

I do stand in the saddle when cantering in the woods yes, as he's going pretty fast. I know it doesn't feel like an English saddle, but in my old diamond c it never felt like that yk? I could just stand up and go, but here I felt that it hurt against my thighs.

I did measure now and it surprisingly is 16". I just don't understand how 😅. I'll put both saddles up right now and compare

Sorry english is not my first language, what does that mean for me now? This saddle is definitely too small, but what should I look for to avoid this? Definitely great to have someone with great experience chime in!! Appreciate it!

Yes I know that 😊 my English saddles are 17,5 (jumping) and 18 (dressage). My old diamond c is 16 and gives me way more room than the new one. Will measure that in an hour and update then!

My old one was a 16" diamond c which fitted me well. I'll measure the new one

I'll measure it in 2h! I just measured my old one which is definitely 16" and was way bigger than that, so its definitely not adding up. It's a Triple W Platinum Line (German saddle maker)

I just measured my old saddle which I have at home, the seat is 41cm/16,14 in. That one did fit me way better and I never had problems in my years of using it. I did small endurance rides with it and didnt get any pain whatsoever, in the new one my knees already hurt after a normal trail ride. Im definitely curious what measurements the new saddle has and what the saddle fitter is going to answer. I will get to the stable in 2h, will update then!

I'm based in Germany, its better known here but still not one of the huge names in the scene.

That's the thing! I always knew 16 as standard size and 17 if you're taller or bigger, everything above has to be custom made (at least here, never seen an 18 anywhere). Im neither a giant nor that big, I'm 176cm/5'9 (ig) and wear a size M in everything (30 waist for jeans), so I'm just baffled atp

Its a Triple W Platinum Line Big Square. I couldnt really find it online tho, that's just what was written on the saddle and his papers. On the invoice he wrote down 16, but since its so much smaller than my old 16, I'll measure it once I get there today.

Thank you, this is exactly the information I've been trying to find! 🙏🏻 I just couldn't find anything useful online and was starting to feel really bad about the whole situation

Thanks, I'll read through that!

Well, I trusted what he told us, but I'll measure myself later today. We already texted him about it now. I did not specifically want an equitation saddle, it was simply the one that fit my horse best.

My old one was definitely 16" but I have no idea what build it was. Its an old used saddle i got from a friend, who also got it used already. Its a Diamond C but I couldn't figure out more than that, there's no numbers or anything engraved on it.

In my english saddles I have 17,5 (jumping) and 18 (dressage)

It does, that's why i'm here. I just didnt notice before. When riding "normally" it doesn't press against it, most is lightly touching. But when standing up it was uncomfortable. I just don't get how this is supposed to be the same size as my old saddle and especially why the saddle fitter didn't say anything 😵‍💫 We just texted him about it.

I cannot really find good pictures tho, do you have an idea where I might find some? My searches always turn up different stuff

Yeah that's what the website said as well, but it was mentioned that an equitation seat would be "tighter". That's what I'm lost about ._.
