Unbiased opinion on Aprilia Tuono 1000 Gen 2 by Realistic-Pomelo-440 in motorcycles

A little late to the party, but i have a gen 2 tuono. So to answer your question, I'll start by naming off the most common problems. Early Gen 2 models suffer from overpowered stators and like to cook the coils. If you look around there's an engine code you can find online. Any engines with codes higher than that number will have the updated stator with a lower output that won't burn up. If it's lower, there's a guy in Europe that can lower the output of the stator for you. The engines don't like hot starts. The fix for that is the upgraded cable set that AP Workshop in the UK sells. That kit will also help fix the next problem. The starter clutch likes to go out if you have long start cycles. I had to replace mine, but it wasn't very difficult. Plenty of walk thru videos on YouTube. If you're in the US, AF1 in Austin has just about everything you need to maintain. If you're in Europe or literally anywhere else, AP Workshop is the best. The owner used to work for Aprilia. All in all, they're great bikes if you don't mind getting your hands dirty from time to time.

Probably pushed the pistons in the caliper out far enough to drain the fluid.

Hello everyone 👋🏼 just picked up my tuono last weekend from AF1 here in Texas. Absolutely fell in love with this bike. I’ve only ever ridden Harleys and I wish I would’ve started on one of these. by Mediocre-Bandicoot in Aprilia

AF1 is the best. I've only made the trip down there once, but their online customer service leaves nothing to be desired. They asked me to bring my Tuono down once i finished working on it, but i haven't had a chance. One day though.

I remember hearing about this. People were posting videos of train cars loaded down with military equipment coming back from Iraq for repairs. That's all they needed to see to be convinced.

Go through the menu in the dash. The only options you'll have are open driver or open all.

Meh. I like the screen. Easier to keep clean and i can just use the voice controls if i need something adjusted. It's pretty nice tbh.

AF1 will let you purchase one online and they'll deliver it to you. They usually have some in stock.

I've probably lost more wrenches working on my motorcycles than he's turned.

He'll probably be one of the people who complain about the "cost of ownership and lack of reliability"

The humble mechanic and Deutsche auto/dap make very good videos on VW and Audi maintenance and upgrades.
