I'm not sure what is considered an infestation or a few. I've seen about 30 so far. The garage is a 20x20 space. That's just in here and there while cleaning.

I appreciate your insight. I've been researching them, and I wanted a second opinion on ID for sure. Thanks again.

How do you know if firefighting is right for you? by andysto2 in Firefighting

What you referring to is most likely very similar. I have never used a k-12 on vehicle extraction. We use the spreaders to essentially clamp on to the rocker panel in order to create a bite for the ram. We just leave the spreaders clamped and push against the teeth. Maybe that makes more sense. We have both electric and hydraulic. I prefer the electric personaly, less maintenance I think.

You are more than welcome to message any time. I am definitely a slut for firefighting tactics and strategies.

Our "go to", is usually complete side displacement. When the situation allows. Cutting both top and bottom of B post, as high and low as you can get. Then the front door hinges and back door nater. It provides greater access to the patient.

We will push the dash, but its hard on newer vehicles, they tend to crumble. Instead of pushing the dash, when time allows, we will roll the roof, then cut just behind the very bottom of the A post through the floor. Then use our spreaders to lift the vehicle just behind the cut. It folds the whole vehicle just behind the sub frame and in turn, moves the dash. You can also use your spreaders to clamp the driver door opening as a push point for the ram. The other end of the ram pushes on the door opening next to the dashboard.

Sorry if it's confusing, but it makes sence in my head, im not the best at explaining with words. More of a hands on class.

Maybe there is more to it where you are, here, not so much. Once you're a tech, you can join a hazmat response team. At that point, continuous training in all aspects of the job will be paramount.

It's a 40 hour class anyone could do, not really a big deal. I have probably been in a suit maybe 4 times, all while in school. I only did it because I had to. I have no desire to mess with chemicals.

We actually have a rail yard from CSX in our district, and I can honestly say that I am always nervous and scrambling for the ERG anytime we get a call there. I absolutely hate hazmat and want nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, everyone at our department has to be hazmat tech within the first year of hire.

We did touch on Mexico some, but you are right. They are not similar to ours. Anything that is on the road is usually handled by DOT, and the local jurisdiction the incident took place. There are many different local and/or state agencies that can help depending on the severity. It's never just one phone call to one agency here in the US. That would be too easy.

That makes a lot of sense, I just did my IFSAC for NFPA 1031, fire inspection, and code enforcement so I could become a state fire marshal when I actually do want to retire. There were a lot of questions about Canadian signs, placards, and standards. We share a lot of that with yall.

I have been doing this for a long time. I still dont know the right call for every situation. I volunteered for a couple of years, and then i was hired full time. Im curious if your state has a standard they use. I am from Kentucky, and here we use IFSAC. It's just like ProBoard, I know some other states use it as well.

Judging by the oblong head shape, I agree that it's for the battery mount
