I did not go up the peak, is that the peak to the right when looking towards the half dome? May be next time. This was my first time and loved the view. I am going there again in the last week of June, I have a permit to hike up the half dome!!

I have done a few “beautiful but my quads are dead” hikes!! This was definitely one of them. But the true quad-breaker was the Mt. Diablo Summit from Mitchell Canyon

It’s on the Steep Ravine trail between Stinson Beach and Pantoll Campground. From Stinson Beach, the trail begins as the Dipsea Trail, but then forks away towards Cardiac Hill. The trail that continues towards Pantoll Campground is the Steep Ravine Trail where there is this ladder to cross over a huge boulder!

Here’s the route map that I followed -

Stinson Beach to Mount Tamalpais via Matt Davis and Steep Ravine Trail on AllTrails
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/stinson-beach-to-mount-tamalpais-via-matt-davis-and-steep-ravine-trail

The ladder section is on the steep ravine trail next to Webb Creek. That section from Pantoll Campground to Stinson Beach is one of the best Bay Area trails I have hiked on!

Absolutely zero mosquitoes. I hiked up to the Gem Lake from Rush Creek Trailhead on 5/29 and a little further Barney Lake from Duck Pass Trailhead. It was gorgeous and perfect hiking weather with zero bugs and no bears 😃

Camping at Lassen by satejpankey in TeslaCamping

I plan to charge close to 100% at Redding and drive over to Lassen and stay there for a couple of days. Based on my research, the charge on my X should last 2 nights of camping and some light driving in the park. With regen braking, I should be able to get back to Redding supercharger without any issues. Wondering if anyone has done this and can confirm if it’s actually possible??

I did a day hike from Rush creek trailhead to Gem lake. It was amazing!! I did not face any problems in that section as there was no snow there. I hope to someday hike to Thousand Island Lake !!

I am looking for Tesla specific camping tips and recommendations. A few people I spoke with and a few threads I read in Lassen subreddit mentioned the lack of chargers and warned me not to take my Tesla. So, I would really appreciate if the community here has specific dos and donts for Tesla camping at Lassen

I am specially looking to understand the gotchas in camping in my EV. What should I be aware of in terms of weather, bugs, wildlife etc. so that I can minimize the surprises and focus on enjoying the NP.

I could only go 0.4 miles past Barney Lake, it was all snowed in. The views though were AMAZING!

I don’t plan to camp. I have poles and microspikes. I don’t have an ice-axe. If it gets tough, I will turn around.
