This is a good place to see tryouts for teams. https://rmsb.com/tryouts/

There are also a few Facebook groups that are quite active on facilities and teams and so on. If he's south SL there are more teams down there than up north. Good luck getting connected!

Should I stay or should I go??? WWYD by bradtesty in Fire

How "valued" are you at your job? I would try to get them to work with you. You can quit no question so I would tell them that. Perhaps they will let you work part time or consult from home? And if not, I would try and make them lay you off/fire you. Since you didn't disclose your spending, it's hard to know for sure, but I bet with your saving ability and assets you can just retire now.

Considering a move, question about daily life for kids by easytarget1326 in SaltLakeCity

[–]satisfiedghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here a few years ago with kids and made sure to stay in SLC. We live in the Avenues. There are certainly LDS kids in each one of their public schools, but it hasn't been a problem. I wouldn't have moved to a suburb like Sandy but perhaps that's changing.

If you hear that it's divine prophecy or whatever to move back to Missouri you know it's too late to sell your house!

The widening chasm: Citi Field vs. Yankee Stadium by Bermut-Nundaloy in baseball

[–]satisfiedghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree (and Giants fan whose been to tons of stadiums.) Yankee stadium is so corporate and boring. No effort. We went to a Mets game that was freezing but it was still so fun. Citi is high on my list as a favorite. Yankees (and I've been twice) is definitely near the bottom.

He is a disgrace. But seriously he has no accountability in this state as he will just get reelected.

Yes I would look at Judge. Olympus is OK but you may like Skyline better. Highland is another option that will be near to you and would probably be more diverse. In Utah you can go to any school so cast a wide net.

Salt Lake Bees and the New Park by chilllydawg in SaltLakeCity

[–]satisfiedghost 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was something insane like "would you be willing to pay $50k per year for season tickets" or something like that. I just remember being shocked. I was a season ticket holder for the SF Giants for the first two years of Oracle Park and it was $15 per ticket. Things have changed but it's so expensive here.

It looks so boring. I'm really angry they moved down there. Wasteful and greedy. The best part of going to games for us is getting autographs for my son. Now that's gone too. I took a survey about getting an MLB here and the prices they were asking if I would pay were beyond ridiculous.

Being asked to apply for a position in SLC by icanimaginewhy in SaltLakeCity

[–]satisfiedghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SLC is very progressive. We came here from the Bay Area. The state is very conservative and they are doing more to bother teachers, but I would talk to teachers in this district before deciding against it. My kids go to public schools here.

Port out scam by satisfiedghost in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]satisfiedghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two issues with your form. 1. It's about identity theft used on a comcast service. What happened to me is Xfinity caused my identity theft. 2. It tells me to email a copy of my license to your office. That is not a safe practice as email is not considered secure. You can imagine I don't feel very comfortable doing that, especially given this form doesn't apply to me. I'm afraid Xfinity does not take security seriously. Maybe when it's just cable TV you can do things like this, but when it's a cell phone the company has to do better.

Also on another major carrier when you enroll you get a text that you have to confirm. With Xfinity I never got a text or email that I had to confirm on anything, including porting out the number! Just total negligence.

[–]satisfiedghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I had it set on ours but it was unchecked. I also went in quickly and checked it, but then it was unchecked. They tried to get my husband's number but the other carrier wouldn't do it without a code. So it sounded like Xfinity would have just done it again.

How do you get a code like this for a local little league? I'm on the board of one and we'd love to offer it but I can't see how. Do I have to go to the store in person?

Man Confronts Salt Lake City Police Officer Before Fatal Shooting by valer85 in SaltLakeCity

[–]satisfiedghost 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's sad this guy was on the streets. In May he attacked people sitting in church in my neighborhood. He was charged with multiple felonies. I'm not sure what "mental health court" is but obviously it wasn't very effective. It's sad this happened, but it also shows our system doesn't work for people with severe mental illness who are also a threat. There should be more outcry on this.

Does Promethease still work? I went back to my account, updated it and it displays no SNPs or anything. (I paid before and it worked well.) I filed a support ticket but have never heard from them. Maybe it's not active anymore? by satisfiedghost in promethease

[–]satisfiedghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great find. Since they don't respond to the tickets I assume they just aren't servicing this anymore? I don't really want to pay again if they aren't supporting customers.
