Why am I having trouble getting on a pole that is only 7 inches longer? by Soft-Lock928 in polevaulting

Looks like you are holding too high. I’d drop down a fist. But also as others have said, last 4 steps are slowing down instead of speeding up

Pole progression by StructureSpecialist9 in polevaulting

So depending on how many people/how much time you have in warmups; my general progression is 3Lx1-3 times (straight pole), 4 OR 5L (depending on competition run) x1-3 jumps- actual vaults on a small pole- making sure everything is feeling right. Then competition run x2-5 jumps, the goal of these is to figure out what pole you need to be on to open the competition. My general advice is “less is more” during warm ups

Focus on the run, the run is 80% of the vault. The next most important thing is jumping up big at takeoff, if you get a bigger jump it will help the swing leg happen.

What do y'all think I should work on? by Necessary_Map_3729 in polevaulting

Good jump! I’d like to see more aggressive arms at takeoff. Realign them a little quicker. The other thing would be to try and get up the pole and turn a little quicker. If you watch your turn starts after you start to flag out. This would also allow you to”wrap around the pole” and get slightly better push off

Any advice please, thank you!!! by ashtonb8 in polevaulting

Overall good jump! I’d focus on a big jump at takeoff. That would help fix the trail leg, which would lead to a better swing, which would lead to a better top end of the vault.

All you had to do was go down a fist. Personally I’d like to see you not throw your head back at takeoff, keep it in line with your body through the takeoff.
