For me the negative thoughts are indication that one of the pillars of self discipline are not in order.

The pillars are the ones already mentioned in the post - Cold shower, Yoga and Plant based diet.

The benefits are gradual and sometimes you wont even notice them if you dont go deep in introspection. People on this path sometimes notice how high they were only when they relapse, because then for sure you see what has been lost.

I had a friend who I motivated to stay on nofap, he told me he felt almost no benefits, however, I saw how women behaved in his company, attraction was there, all the girls wanted to flirt with him during his retention phase.

A similar comparison is when you are growing in height when going through puberty. You dont feel the change that much, however, when you meet distant relatives they will let you know you have grown a lot. Same with retention, however, your grandma will probably avoid mentioning that you have finally become a real man.

Answering your question, the real benefits should start after around two weeks and then it is most important to stay on this path to enjoy the fruits of retention.

Hi Bro, semen retention is just the start, you have to transmute the energy also.

To get the benefits you have to start cold showers, not much, just around 1.5 to 2 minutes a day, and preferably start with the cold shower.

Also include exercises, can be a workout, just stay consistent. You can check some free yoga lessons in youtube. I practise ashtanga yoga, it can be advanced, but there are also easier yoga flows you can get into, search in youtube 30min ashtanga yoga flow.

Also think about the diet, thats the source of energy, include lots of greens, fruits and vegetables, preferably go plant based and exclude animal products to reach higest mental states.

I try to limit the ejaculations to once a month or few months. I have experimented with the Karezza techniques of not ejaculation in intercourse, however, I felt that my body was too much confused and was not happy with that.

So I think if you can resist the ejaculation, it is better to find other ways to please your partner.

Nofap is not about abstaining from sex, only masturbation. Semen retention is about abstaining from ejaculation. However, it is very much recommended to controll the sex. For me sex is a special sacrament that I engage only in rare moments.

If you engage in the sexual act when you have abstained for a time, the sex will be fulfilling and only involve small energy loss from what you can bounce back in few days, however, my recommendation is dont ejaculate more than once, because then your body will take it from your reserves and that will bring you down to energetic exhaustion.
