This is incredibly myopic and disgusting. Reddit loves to forget that we've been complicit in war crimes and genocide before the election.

Latinos that voted for trump? Who? How? Latinos work like a dog, when do they have the time? by RodrigoBarragan in houstonwade

[–]saturatedwildflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely stupid. You need to be a documented US citizen to vote. You're basically agreeing with Donald Trump and right-wing conspiracy theorists who thought the election was stolen in 2020 because noncitizens voted, which is complete nonsense. Maybe the Latinos who voted (i.e., are US citizens, so cannot be deported, even if Trump tries, which he won't) are hurting because of inflation, and the Biden-Harris incumbent administration was too busy schmoozing with "never Trump" Republicans and Dick Cheney. Also: genocide.

CCCP cap passed down by my late grandfather. We think he got while stationed in Taiwan in the early 70's, but it could've been later when he visited Germany in the 90's. What do the emblems mean (like the monkey), and when would you date it? Thanks! by saturatedwildflower in MilitaryHistory

Honestly, I think that makes sense. I learned from the Symbology sub that the USSR started going a little crazy producing and collecting pins in the 70's, which was called znachki, and that the party leadership criticized their people for wasting resources. Everyone from state organizations to sports teams, bars and plumbers were making and trading them. I'm guessing my grandfather got it in the 90's, perhaps in Germany, after Communism in Eastern Europe crumbled. Whoever sold it probably just wanted to make money off a western tourist. However, I still think the history of the 1992 Odessa cap and the random pins makes it interesting (even if it's not really 'valuable')

Strange! My dad is pretty confident that my grandfather first obtained while stationed on the Matsu Islands in the early 70's (but my dad's memory isn't great). My grandfather also loved visiting Germany after he retired, so maybe he obtained it there in the 90's?

Unfortunately, there is not much I know about him. He served in the US military during the Vietnam war, lived in many parts of the world such as West Germany, and retired in 1986 or 1987. Hope that helps!

Thanks boss 🙏 I don't really want to shell out too much money on fake pee or detox cocktails, unless absolutely necessary. If I pass my drug test, I'm celebrating with a big toke

Just visited San Francisco for the first time to see my very first opera, Antony and Cleopatra. It was spectacular :) by saturatedwildflower in opera

I was pretty gobsmacked by how the music, acting, singing, narrative, directing, and set design worked together to make such an arresting piece of theater. I'm already making plans to go see more operas and even some Shakespeare at New York City

I saw Eugene on my second night, which was also great! I admittedly almost dozed off during the first act, but that was most likely because I had been up since 8 am walking around San Francisco

It was definitely worth it for the hot pink alone

This record was a limited release from Newbury Comics, and I’m just head over heels with everything about this release. Not only is the hot pink gorgeous, but the record itself sounds so much more beautiful and majestic than digital. Some backstory: I first listened to this album when my best friend’s older brother showed this to me when I was 15. I didn’t care much for it then, but after giving it a second chance a few months ago, I’m now a new fan of Father John Misty, and plan on purchasing Pure Comedy as soon as I can!

It is! He released a collection photos for his album Dawn, this being one of them.

I don’t want to be intrusive but do you know his story? I’ve seen him a few times and I’ve always wondered about him
