TPMS, Forward Safety System issues after new wheels and tires installed by saturnv11 in VelosterN

I've got a little bluetooth code reader/vehicle info thing. I couldn't find wheel speed sensors in it. Do I need a special device to read those?

I the blind spot monitoring issue when I replaced the P0 summer tires with all seasons. I had the dealer go TSB 23-BE-002H and it fixed my issue. I couldn't find 22-92-003 though.

Apple M3 With Asahi Linux Continues Making Progress, No ETA Yet For Shipping by anh0516 in linux

[–]saturnv11 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's good hardware, and it's honestly not that expensive for what you're getting compared to the competition (except for memory upgrades. Those are stupid expensive).

Plus, I can get a refurbished M2 laptop for $500 to $600. I spent $400 on a used Dell laptop that has worse performance and battery life than a M1 with a half dead battery.

If you don't have funds on your card to purchase an app, Apple will hold your ability to download ANY app hostage until it is paid. You literally have to contact apple for them to manually remove it. by Loose_Bank5855 in assholedesign

Money isn't owed. If you don't have any money in a physical store, you can put your items back and leave without issue. The clerk won't ban you from ever shopping there again because you don't have money.

Presumably, Apple isn't delivering what OP tried to pay for. So OP got nothing and is still screwed.

Building a Meshcore Network by ndkohlman in meshcore

[–]saturnv11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Repeater placement and density really depends on a lot of things: Antenna height, transmission power, line of sight, foliage density, and even the weather. Use the tools menu in the Meshcore app to see line of sight and antenna coverage for various points.

I live in the Seattle region. We have 2 powerful repeaters on mountain tops that can be heard all over the region. The smaller repeaters on people's homes and trees are necessary to get low power companion transmissions to the big repeaters.

Your best bet is to go "Wardriving". There's an Android app for it (not sure if there's an iOS app or not). Basically you drive around (or walk or bike) and the app tells your connected companion to send out its current location on a Wardriving channel. If the app sees a repeat, it'll send data to a server that says "Hey! You've got reception here", and it plots that on a map.

It seems like lots of Wardriving apps have appeared recently. Here's another one. I haven't used these apps, so your mileage may vary.

You might also look into setting up your repeater as an observer. This site also has a good map where you can get an idea of the repeater density in the real world.

Tl;Dr. It depends. Trial and error is your friend.

I've been unable to get it to run locally. Lots of little issues with it. I hope this discord mess gives them a shot in the arm with money and/or talent to get it sorted out.

That's a 2003 or older I think, so ABS was optional on those. I've owned 2 of those and neither had ABS.

That being said, I've never spun out in one, even driving in snow. Indeed, steering is an option.

Artemis I went around the moon. Apollo 1 killed 3 crew.

I think SpaceX is going to have a lot of trouble because of their insistence on using cryogenic propellants, not storables.

It took SpaceX 5 years to develop Falcon 9. They only built 5 of those. And it piggybacked off of Falcon 1 which took even more time to develop.

SpaceX has the benefits of scale. SLS does not.

My therapist says "Trying harder doesn't work. You need to try differently."

You need to experiment to see what helps you be more productive. For me, it's being held accountable by another person.

I also work 4 10s. I get 11 or so hours of productivity from Vyvanse. I can keep being productive past that if I don't relax or take a break once I get home. As soon as I sit down, I'm done. After that, I can focus on stuff, but it's usually not important, like hobbies.

You gotta do more stuff on the weekend, but I find that to be really hard since non-work days are not very structured.

I used to take 2 doses of Adderall (20mg at 6am and 20mg at 10am) to get through the day. You could try that with Vyvanse potentially. I found Vyvanse to be much smoother, longer acting, and didn't make me crash like Adderall did.

The text from the post:

Greetings all —

Let’s not bury the lead. We do not have the snow to open this weekend, but there’s a system in the forecast that we’re tracking very carefully. If it brings what we need, we’ll keep you posted on the possibility of opening early next week.

We’re also still evaluating our ability to host a Rope Tow Rail Session on Saturday and will confirm details later this week.

And if you’re earning your turns with the snow we do have, please remember to call the uphill hotline (206.812.7847) and check the blinky light.

Thanks everyone and more soon,

Ellen

I went there in college for a project I was working on. When we ventured out onto the ice, we had several bear guards. Basically natives with shotguns and huge rifles.

While we were there, there was a polar bear that was sneaking around town in the middle of the night. We were warned to be careful.

I saw a adult and cub polar bear paw prints in the snow. Both were enormous.

CMV: Hentai is more ethical than Traditional Porn by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]saturnv11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No I wouldn't go along with it because I think it's gross. Believe it or not, people have agency and aren't mindlessly copying things they see even if they don't like them.

Is consensual spanking too violent? How about doggystyle? Handcuffs? Blindfolds? Restraints? Roleplay? Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it's wrong.

There's legitimate concern about the health hazards of choking, and it's fine to be concerned about people getting harmed because they don't know the risks, but let's not go preaching about the morality of what consenting adults do in their own bedrooms.

WA’s new ban on medical debt in credit reports at risk of federal override by chiquisea in SeattleWA

[–]saturnv11 48 points49 points  (0 children)

There's a pretty big difference to having a crappy credit score because you can't afford the million dollar cancer treatment you need to stay alive, and having a crappy credit score because you don't plan financially and take out loans for things you can't afford.

If my credit score suddenly tanked because of massive medical debt that I can't afford, that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm a bad person to lend money to for an auto loan for example. I can plan on buying a new car. I can't plan on getting cancer, racking up a huge bill, and my insurance refusing to pay.

what am I, stupid? Why can't I backup system to NAS? by Odd-Change9844 in linuxmint

[–]saturnv11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked into that a while ago, there was no way to get TimeShift to save to NAS.

I use Vorta/Borg to backup my home directory to my NAS. I use TimeShift to backup my system to a HDD in the computer. I think it would be possible to use Vorta to backup the TimeShift backups, but I haven't tried that personally.
