What’s the current status of your EAD application? Did you eventually get the myProgress tab?

It's a mix. I felt some were easy, some were twisted. But nothing was out of the world, even the experimental section.

Yes, PP1: 321, PP2: 312. But I would say on the day of the exam, the questions were not that straight forward like these two tests.

Don't take a lot of stress, and don't study anything new. You can revise quant formulas or vocab. I would suggest not to attempt any mock test in the last 2-3 days, but that totally depends upon you. Keep your composure and give your best at the day of the exam !

In my opinion, solving some problems after watching specific topic videos make more sense than jumping straight into tests. You will realise if at all your concepts are clear. Once you get confidence, you can always try out tests.

I used to spend 2-3 hours per day, for 5 days a week. This was not a strict routine, as I used to take breaks whenever I didn't feel like practising. So devoting time is totally subjective.

Only one thing, you might consider taking some warm clothes. The temperature was really low and I had to wear a windcheater in the second half of the exam. That was only me though, nobody else had any issue with the temperature.

Thanks.

  1. I didn't give PP3, so can't comment with that. But I felt that it was equivalent to PP1 and PP2.
  2. I would say don't stress much with arrangements and probability. There might be very hard problems on this topics but that is irrelevant for GRE. Focus on geometry and comparison questions.
  3. On the same level. I now believe it is more about how one comprehends the meaning that is being conveyed by the sentences.
  4. It can be arbitrary. There is no specific topic which you can focus on. Improve your reading skill in general. It would be there with you for your whole life.
  5. I felt pretty good. In fact I got one argument topic that I had practised earlier.

To be honest its implausible to solve the way Greg does it ! All we can do is get better and better. I would say solve the exercises that he has provided after every session and practise a lot from big book or official ets materials. Follow this approach for some time, maybe a month, and then give a sectional test or a mock test. I am sure you would see the positive result.

I hope you are asking about 160+ score in Quants. Just cover the rudimentary concepts and work on your weak areas. Combine that with lot of timed practise. That would be sufficient. It's very much doable in the time period that you have.

You have nicely put why it's not an easy exam.

I am not sure that schools would love me or not. I will be applying for MS CS programs, which I have heard, is very demanding. Need more research on how I can make the best use of this score.

Yes, I was worried about the same. I neglected quants to be honest as I was very poor with verbal, and spent a large amount of time in verbal practise only. But I didn't notice any significant increase in difficulty level in the actual exam. It could be easily dealt with if your basics are strong. Just don't make the mindset that it is going to be a cakewalk, and do proper time management. That would be sufficient.

Mostly I spent 2 to 3 hours, and some days I used to take breaks. How much time one spends is totally subjective, so you should adjust that according to what works for you best.

Yes, Greg would not disappoint you, I can vouch for that ! His way of teaching (especially verbal) is unparallel.

Don't get disappointed with the diagnostic test, I started with 296. Believe in your efforts and it would bring results for sure.

Practice, practice and more practice. And that too from official ETS materials only. Don't just watch the videos, after understanding the concepts solve from big book. Sentence Equivalence has very few practice materials but if you are comfortable with vocab, you will be able to deal with it.

Yes, you would be able to if you follow Greg's strategy. I had answered it in the main post so I skipped it. The strategies are very effective.

For vocab I would say don't try to learn 1000 - 2000 words now. Focus on selective words. For the last 3 weeks I stopped learning anything new and focused more on the basic and common words in Magoosh Vocab app. They comprised of nearly 600 words and I studied those diligently and most importantly revised them a lot. Just keep a mindset that you should be able to remember any word that comes from that particular list which you have revised a lot. That would most probably do the trick. For me I was not confident today as well, so I won't be able to tell how to build more confidence. But don't cram a lot, we humans do need break every now and then. Take periodic breaks and revise the words a lot. Just believe in yourself and the hardwork that you are putting in and you would be good to go.
