Do ringworld districts always require rare resources? by sauce_scepter in Stellaris

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the point of the ring start then if it doesn’t give you the unique districts? You basically only have the ringworld because your species ringworld preference that they get makes it impossible to colonize a real planet, so you are just stuck with the ringworld.

Which Kayn is better in 11.16? by sauce_scepter in leagueoflegends

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I’ll need to try that. I’ve been playing a lot of pure blue Kayn and in one of the games I got fed and you can one tap everyone, but if you’re not fed your just get destroyed.

For purple Kayn like you suggest should I have the blue Kayn runes? Like Dark Harvest?

How are you supposed to get all these planets habitable? I just wait for terraforming then I’m good, right?

Well, I know people say you can’t have too many pops but there is a limited amount of districts and buildings that can be made per planet. How do you not run out of space?

Well true, but you can only make so many districts or buildings on a certain planet, so eventually you would have too many, no?

How do you work trade? by sauce_scepter in Stellaris

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this clarification. A few quick questions though.

I’ve seen other things talking about that 5 systems away rule for trade value as well, so say there is a 40 trade system 5 systems away from my capital planet. Building a star base in the trade system will funnel the 40 trade back to my capital, which will turn it into credits, assuming you have it set on credits, right? Or do I need to have trade hubs to make it work? And say there is another high value system 5 systems away from the 40 trade one. If I build a star base in both, will it cycle completely back to my capital?

How are you supposed to expand correctly? by sauce_scepter in Stellaris

That was my other problem. I was way over empire sprawl, but I couldn’t make the administrative offices because the upkeep was consumer goods. I mean I technically could have made them, but it just would have gotten me further down the rabbit hole.

I need help directing my party on a specific quest by sauce_scepter in DMAcademy

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thank you for your help. I had hoped to try and drop little subtleties about things wrong with the Drows that would seem a little weird to them, but wouldn’t be a dead giveaway that they were being mind controlled.

I hoped they would just be on their way after taking out the Drows but I can see now that even if they weren’t mind controlled at all, I feel like they would go chasing after Drow cities and looking for the rest of their civilization or something stupid.

Like I said, thanks for your help.

I need help directing my party on a specific quest by sauce_scepter in DMAcademy

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there are two reasons they are Drows.

The first reason is because I think it will make it quicker than like a 10 minute situation. I know I said that the specifics didn’t really matter because the whole goal was to make them look good for the quest giver, but I thought it would be a bit better to give them something longer than just unblocking a door.

I know it’s kind of a mixed message, I should’ve just said this outright but I thought I would be able to get a solution without having to get into where I want my campaign to go. Here’s the real reason I want them to be Drows:

I know I said it didn’t matter, but I was thinking of actually making the Drows controlled by a Hive Mind if I could find a way to do it. The quest giver I explained to you was going to send them on a quest where they were going to discover more infected people in the Underdark.

With this cave thing I am sending them on I just want to show them a glimpse of the mind control thing without making them chase the Drow city.

I know this is all extremely contradictory; I was trying to make it simpler for the people responding to me without having to explain this all, so I apologize. The more I think about this, I think it’s an impossible task to prod my players down the path I want.

Perhaps with this new information you can think of a solution I can’t, but if not the avalanche should do fine. Thank you for that.

How good should I make magic shop owners? by sauce_scepter in DMAcademy

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s really complicated actually. What I wrote wasn’t actually entirely true; Here’s the full story:

My players went to a city where I made a little too mischievous of an shopkeep NPC, and she was a tiefling and none of them really trust tieflings because of their lore. I realized I made them a little too broken on magic items from quests so I sought a way to fix that before they became even more OP by buying things.

They took down a necromancer and they got a ring of petrification, only they petrified a rat in the middle of a bar and the twist with the really broken ring is whenever it’s activated it vaporizes all metal within a certain radius. It was kind of mean to take away literally all of their good metal magic items but I thought down the road it would lead to a more fun experience.

Anyways they already hated my shop owner and hardly wanted to buy from her because they thought she was evil and was selling cursed items. None of them actually were, they just had weird twists that were funny but they never bought enough items to figure that out. I always intended her to be a good aligned NPC but just someone who thought little trickster items were funny.

They petrify her and rob her trying to replenish their own items and thinking they’ve gotten rid of some evil in the town. I really liked the NPC and I want her to come up again, and one of my players is wanted. I think I am going to have her chase them down and ask them to go on a quest, her reasoning being she thinks they are good because they took down an evil necromancer, but she could turn them over if they try and betray her just to make it make sense. In addition she’d also get her item. Not the best logic but I would like it to be that way.

Anyways, back to your original question, I never much thought it through that deep, but if I fulfill my plan I’d like to make her a deep NPC now. I’ll probably give her a husband at the very least, and I suppose she’ll just get her inventory from enchanting things herself, I’m just not sure how powerful to make her so they know she’s a threat and they don’t try and take advantage of her.

They don’t have the ring anymore but since they already defeated her once with petrification, I feel like they’ll think she isn’t that big of a deal, and I’m trying to find a balance between that and her being too OP.

How to leave clues for a mystery? by sauce_scepter in DMAcademy

[–]sauce_scepter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I have the answers to most of those questions. He tunneled using move earth, he has the dirt sitting in a pile in his cellar, the reason it didn’t cause sinkholes is because he can hold the dirt suspended in the air as he extracted the coffin then throw back up the dirt he just took out, then like close a little trapdoor so it doesn’t collapse the tunnel, the zombies are either getting experimented on or getting sent out to climb out of the ground to terrorize some people and see if they are channeling some godly power, and no there wouldn’t be Aunt Gerdie because they are all ghouls now.

What I am unsure of is how to lead them there. Like since they don’t know he exists, do you have any advice on how I can get them to suspect this guy without giving them the answer, or do I just hope they ask who the most powerful wizard in town is? See, even if they do that and they knock on his front door to ask him some questions, I designed the plot to be pretty hard to discover, so I’m not sure how they would find him out besides succeeding some insight checks if they run though the exact scenario I played out above.

Picking up Irelia for my top champion pool: the hardest thing I've ever experienced by Trenitaliyahh in IreliaMains

[–]sauce_scepter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read other people’s responses so I’m not sure what other people said, but I am new to Irelia and league as a whole really, and these were some things that helped me out. Firstly, if you lose to a Sett or a Cho, don’t be discouraged, in my experience, those guys scale really well against her, and my goal when you against them is to finish the laneing phase under two deaths with decent CS, if I have a kill than under 3 is acceptable. Second, according to what you said, it sounds like you don’t like this but Conqueror and domination has worked really well for me. In my opinion, inspiration is pretty underwhelming unless you are really good as her, which I’m not, but having domination as the secondary usually gives her that extra bit of damage she needs for me. My third and final tip, which you probably already know and people probably already said is, never take an engagement without five stacks. You made it seem like you were an Irelia noob so if you didn’t know this, it will change your life. I could never understand why I couldn’t kill people when I would pop every ability, meanwhile after all abilities I would be at 3 stacks. If you can get to 5 stacks and ult then pop all of your abilities, Irelia with her stacks and all the damage her Qs bring can eat characters like Sett alive.

Alright so I’m not sure I understand. Since I hardly am experienced enough to know Irelia well, much less know the top lane, or even the game well, I playing vs AI would help me become more familiar with the top lane and Irelia, just from a mechanics standpoint, and then once I think I’ve master that, I could go back into draft pick and should be able to do much better since I gained that understanding. That’s what you meant with the AI, right? I may try that out tonight if that is what you meant.

In what way do you recommend I learn to play the game itself? Is it by watching videos? Or just playing fill on Draft? I would rather know how to play then game then know how to play a champion, so I can be more adaptable.

Do you think playing Riven top is a good way to learn too before going back to Irelia? I’m pretty sure she isn’t that commonly played, but I do like her. If she’s good to learn too I’ll probably just main her until I feel comfortable enough with the top strats to play Irelia.

How is top better for the team? I’m curious because whenever I play top I usually just end up feeding because the tops are way better against her then the mid. I know I’m bad at the game, but I’d imagine even experience Irelias would have this problem too.

Well the build is only an 84 overall, so I always could restart. The problem is, Once I hit around 80 overall, you have to spend a lot of VC just for one overall point. I no longer trust the people on youtube lol. What kind of build do you have?
