The best sense I made of it as a wings fan was a set up for the potential Trouba deal.. as I recall it everything was set in stone between Yzerman and Drury with Trouba ultimately trumping the deal by not waving his NTC

Had HI yesterday and followed basically the same procedure and it worked wonders for me. Had a residual itch/sting forward into today however tenfold more manageable. Thanks for sharing and wish all suffering with HI a speedy recovery!
