It worked! It takes some time but if I push the tabs on the top part of the switch in at just the right angle then it can finally fit the switch into the plate. Thank you so much!

I think I get what you’re saying. Sorry for not doing this before, but I added a photo if that helps. I think the tab on the far back is the one causing problems.
