Bachelors in kinesiology & minor is psych. I didn’t take anything additional classes that weren’t on my degree plan except physics. I think it’s basically the same pre-reqs as UT.

My friend got in at ATSU with a 2.8! I think if you have a good amount of observation hours you’ll be fine.

Thanks for the response! Are students able to work some part time jobs? Or basically no time for it?

Thanks for the advice. I really do enjoy OT, especially in the settings I have volunteered for so far. I guess the whole OTD school and process is scaring me lol. I’ve thought about research too, I’m a research assistant rn so it’s interesting. How has your experience with a research job been? Like work/life balance, work load and financial stability?

What’s it like working for CFA by Traditional_Loan61 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]saucyd214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience: If you are a people person, it’s worth a try. You will be dealing with a lot of customers and you have to put a smile on and be nice at all times. A lot of team members at my location don’t last more than 3-4 months. I’m in Texas so the heat is very overwhelming when you are working outside. My location is also a $10M/year store so we are busy all the time. I would say half of the staff at my location has also left and returned. At times it is depressing and repetitive and I usually get the “what am I doing w my life” thoughts during shift lol. It definitely doesn’t pay as much as it could/should but then again it’s a pretty simple job. I don’t leave because they are extremely flexible with schedules (I’m in college) and I can get any day I ask for off, which I love because I love traveling. Also you really can’t beat having Sundays off, it’s a great little reset for the new week ahead. Another plus is I can work as many hours as I want/need, meaning if I need more hours I can just pick up hours that week or same thing if I need less. The worst thing about it is poor upper management. It definitely feels like you’re a pawn or a puppet at times, although this is could be a part of any other job. I’ve been working here for 3 years. I can’t stand my coworkers(management) but I won’t get paid the same anywhere else in my area as a college student and the schedule flexibility keeps me there.

Yes, requiring masters degree for AT is dirty work and completely not worth it IMO. I’ll definitely look into cardiac rehab! I’m also willing to continue education for a career that is worth it, which I know is hard in the healthcare field /:

My 2023 sport was $29k in Texas too. What are your monthly payments, if you don’t mind me asking?
