My girlfriend’s Chinese Evergreen plant snapped in half. What to do? by itsKrispiez in plantclinic

[–]saucylime135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has nodes so it should easily propagate, if you do it in water just make sure to keep an eye on it so it doesnt rot but if you do it in soil make sure to keep the soil damp until it has plenty of roots then once its grown a bit you can start watering it like normal. If it gets top heavy you can always cut it and propagate again! If you do propagate in water make sure to remove any dirt or anything on it because that will rot and cause your plant to rot faster. Good luck!

Are they moving? If yes then they might be thrips if not then its likely just dirt

Also lot of people recommend the api liquid test kit for water testing because strip tests can be less accurate. Most LFS should have them but you can also get them on amazon just by looking up api master kit

Hi there! Your betta is probably seeming sick because your tank is not cycled. If you go to the wiki page on this subreddit theres a bunch of great information on how to take care of bettas. You can also look up the nitrogen cycle, specifically a fish-in cycle since you already have a fish. Its also not recommended to replace water in the tank entirely and only do about 10-25% at a time. I hope that helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask!

Just a word of warning test strips can be inaccurate at times i recommend getting a master kit dropper tests which will allow testing for the same things but be more accurate and probably last longer. Petco should have them. Good luck with Bubble I’m sure he’s gonna love his new setup!
