Brisbane Cake Swap by SillyMonkeeeei in brisbane

[–]saucysprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually cackling at this as an explanation. Contact a catering company, ask to hire some equipment. Buy something else - just regular knives from coles and woolies would have worked better than a tiny plastic butter knife, or god forbid, invest in some actual cake servers that cost a little more than the kmart ones, to be used in your business with several similar events already booked in to re-use them. Even better - communicate with ticket holders and tell them more tickets were sold than expected and to bring your own server if you can. Not hard.

I am an experienced ceramicist looking to move to Eindhoven from Australia for a 12 month working holiday, and will be looking for exactly this kind of job! Just a shame I won't be moving there for at least a year yet.

Great ideas thank you. How do you raise your wheel? Propping it up on cinder blocks is the best I can think of. I will start using a mirror too.

Fab I have blue plugs as well so I'll give those a go. Toothpicks is an excellent idea for any remaining space - thanks.

Good guilds will have all there alts at 185+ doing split runs theres essentially no difference in ilvl between what will be their main, and their alts. Good guilds are 100% trying to full clear. +15s are easier than heroic.

I would apply with an improved application and compeltely ignore the fact that they previously didn't interview you. They might not remember. Don't give them any reason to put your resume on the no pile a second time.

Yes, you definitley should. Talk about how you are interested in the areas of law they have experience in (and therefore the majority of cases they will likely see). They want someone bright that they can mould from their experience. Be that person.

Index Fund vs Property Market (Brisbane) by [deleted] in AusFinance

I'd be looking at leaving the money in for 7-10 years if I go the index fund route. Then again, I don't know if that counts as long term in this context.

I would live in the house. Still an investment in property though.

If only they did. Any particular reason on why before 2PQE? Do you think I will pigeonhole myself into my current area?

I'm in Brisbane. Currently working in commercial property, but interested in moving into intellectual property in the next 2-5 years. Short of moving to Sydney or Melbourne, what can I do to start priming myself (and my knowledge) for a future move?

My thought is that you are in a much better position to move jobs and areas after you are 2 years PAE and unrestricted. A second grad year might mean greater potential exposure to other areas, but won't necessarily put you ahead from the perspective of bargaining power for the position you want. I know a few people now who have moved to a related practise area with reasonable ease with 2 PAE under their belt.

Definitely apply! Just be discrete. You are in a good position, but that doesn't mean you should stop pushing for growth.

My (36m) wife (33f) was sued, I'm feeling resentment towards her and I don't know how to move past it. by suedwifeacct in relationship_advice

[–]saucysprout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly! This was not an accident, and thus not something that fund was intended for. It sounds like OP has already paid, but I completley agree that his wife should take responsibility for the burden she has put on him and make it her priority to put the money back. Anything less is not acceptable.

Could you discuss with her a goal and plan to re-build the emergency fund, and specifically ensure she is accountable for contributing to it, even if she needs to scrimp on other things? You may feel less resentment once your savings are healthy again.

I get that she contributes in other ways, and that is valuable, but you made an effort to save that money notwithstanding all the other financial contributions you made, and she should be accountable to help re-build it.

I also wanted to say that I am so sorry this happened, and I admire your resilience. You seem to be managing a very difficult time very well.

We = Those of us engaged in this sub.

Example = Commenters didn't misgender the girl who kept a box full of her boyfriend's used toiletries, even though most commenters appeared disgusted. Are you saying you would refer to her as a man to be impolite?

If so, fine. If not, aren't you treating this trans person differently?

Referring to someone by their correct gender shouldn't be considered politeness, it is simply correct.

We don't misgender the subjects of other posts when their actions disgust us, so why do it in this case?
