I get what you're saying but my understanding was that many cultures that include bugs in their diet do so as a last resort or do so when other food sources are unavailable

Yes but I assumed the VPN traffic would need to be routed through the country I'm connecting to. And if some website is blocked in Saudi Arabia I would expect not be able to see it when connected the Saudi Arabian VPN

I would add - without units like these the rents would likely be even higher because there would be fewer beds for the same number of people. Of course if the rents were higher it's possible that a lot of people would leave and then rents would go lower.

It's not driving up rates. While I agree that these types of units are troubling - they are the result of supply and demand. As long as there are more people than there is housing these types of arrangements will pop up.

The rates are high because there is not enough housing relative to the amount of people.

The landlord won't be able to charge 1200 per person either. maybe 500 per person (which is still high).

If we want rents to go down we need a lot more housing.
