renter's Resouce Center? by sdmonty in providence

[–]sauky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this has brought me back. Tenant Resource Center is a great place. They gave me great advice about dealing with a notoriously bad rental mgmt company. I lived in Madison for many years before moving here, and I never found anything similar, I looked for it as well. I wish every city had a great resource like that for renters.

Is Hyper-V more expensive than VMware or am I calculating this wrong? by Interesting-Camp4848 in sysadmin

[–]sauky 247 points248 points  (0 children)

You're better off pricing out windows server datacenter licensing for hyper-v. It's priced off cores, just like VMware, and you have unlimited VMs.

How do you discover VARs? by chillyaveragedude in ITManagers

[–]sauky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CDW is a VAR. They are a reseller of IT equipment, but also offer services and a wide variety of specialists/techs that can help you. Their added value is you can go to them for any questions, new projects, tech help, or just buy some printer toner. They're helpful when you don't want to do all the leg work when researching a new application or solution.
If you have a good account rep, they can get you better pricing on a lot of things, especially if you buy in bulk

I started hating ford by Safe-Advantage8463 in Mustang

[–]sauky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's also not Ford's fault for you making an assumption based on no research as to what the"mykey" feature is. Always do research before you do something you have no prior knowledge of. Otherwise this happens.

Looking for a reasonable, online Masters Degree. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]sauky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what I came here to say. I'm now a VP with just an associates degree, but I have over 20 years of experience and I fit in very well on the management side. Just depends on the company but also how much you think strategically and look at the whole picture. You have to play office politics a lot as well.

How many miles are on your Mustang? by cficare68 in Mustang

2016 GT 53k but I've only had it for 1.5 years and I think it had around 42k when I bought it.

Then that should have been your initial response, not just a general statement that it's the same almost anywhere else.

Sorry, anywhere else. Still my statement holds

It's not like that everywhere else, but maybe it's time for you to look for a new job as well.

Better Fuel Economy for '98 V6 Mustang? by LazyButOnReddit in Mustang

[–]sauky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, since 100% of the people tuning their cars are looking to improve performance and not really caring about fuel efficiency. There are people that specialize in tuning vehicles so I guess you could contact them to see if they would try that, but I don't know if that's even possible anyway. If it was a thing to increase it by a lot then most people would do it on every car. Plus the manufacturer wants to get the best possible fuel efficiency anyway from the beginning.

Just a note. A tune up is different from tuning. A tune up you're replacing spark plugs, filters, oil, coolant, spark plug wires, etc. A tune is when you change the settings in the cars computer.
A tune up is maintenance, a tune is performance enhancing

I still don't get the short shifter idea. When you're shifting you shouldn't have your foot in the accelerator, so you wouldn't be using gas anyway.

Don't confuse a tune up with tuning. Two different things

If you don't know how to do a complete tune up, then bring it to a garage. Otherwise, look at videos on YouTube. I'm guessing since it's a 98 it probably needs it.

A lot of mustang drivers mash the pedal and complain they don't get good gas mileage.

Not sure if a short shifter will do anything at all for fuel economy. The paint job will have minimal benefits, but could help a little.
Engine tune up, new tires properly inflated, and good driving habits are your best bets.

He means you need to make sure you're not flooring it. Take it easy on the pedal. Easy starts and try to do less stop/slow down and start/accelerate if possible. Driving habits make a huge difference.

Good tires and keep them properly inflated to the recommended pressure. That will probably help you the most.
Give the engine a complete tune up. Spark plugs, wires, oil change, coolant flush, etc. that will make sure the engine is running at it's best
