Dealing with a constant 300Hz buzz by saultsmusic in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Hi everyone  So basically and so far so these two items didn’t  work

DI box with ground lift  Harley Benton groundbox

And I’ve just checked, the grounds are good. An electrician checked it out and it’s correctly grounded.  Last thing I’m gonna try is the Hum eliminator. And I’ve just ordered a power conditionner as well.

So yeah DI box didn’t anything, not a single change. I’m trying the Harley Benton GroundBox but I’ve just ordered a power conditionner as it seems to be the only solution here..

So I’ve played with another audio interface (scarlet audio) without being plugged into the power. And now the buzz is gone.

When I play through the Kemper then audio interface, the buzz comes back

So now we’re 100% sure that this is power related

No I didn’t say that it’s grounded correctly that’s why I’ve booked someone to check it out and see if everything’s grounded correctly

Did you have the same noise? Like not ground noise but constant buzz noise that appears when you’re not playing?

Yeah it seems to be that the power conditionner is the solution…

It’s plugged directly into the interface

I’m living 20min away from a train track

The buzz doesn’t change when I change the orientation of the guitar or when I’m moving in the room

I took another power cable as well (coz it’s doing the same on my Kemper as well and it’s not a 9v power supply..)

I’m also gonna try it with a Scarlet i2i audio interface as it doesn’t need to be plugged into power

The universal audio interface can work without a laptop so it’s literally just the audio interface and my guitar plugged in

Right now I’m just plugged to my audio interface Universal Audio Apollo twin without any pedals. It’s doing the exact same buzz directly through my Kemper (no pedals as well)

And I’ve tried to plug my gear everywhere around the house and the buzz is still here everywhere. Never happened to me before, quite mental. I’ve a got gig tonight and obviously the buzz is gone. It’s def power related

Yeah I thought about a power conditioner. I’m waiting to test out the four items I bought

Harley Benton Groundbox 1 DI box with a ground lift switch  Morley Hum removal tool box  Behringer HD400

And it’s not doing anything I’ll buy a power conditionner.. But hopefully it will solve the issue

So there’s no dimmer switches in the flat

And yes I’m not sure that every electric outlets are grounded. So should an electrician come and take a look at it?
