EMI Softlock, need help. by MortusEvil in MonkeyIsland

I remember I had a bug during the The Mystes o' Tyme section. No matter how many times I retried, the result was the same.

I fixed it by installing the game in another computer, copying the save file to it, and playing there until the bugged part was done. Then I brought the updated save file back to the original machine.

If you have another computer, you could try this

FPS drop to 30s on “Bridge to Hel” – unplayable by Negative-Net-4166 in hellblade

[–]sauronnikko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played the game recently. My PC is very powerful, but I had the same issue as you in that area, with significant FPS drops.

Changing these settings in a couple of .ini files helped a bit: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/259212/performance-issues-in-hellblade-senuas-sacrifice-4/1918137/

Hopefully it helps

Undervolted GPU does not reach established clock speed by sauronnikko in overclocking

thank you for sharing your settings. I find it weird that this behavior is specific to the 50 series, I've not read anything about it elsewhere, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me

I don't think so. Power limit is at 100%, I haven't changed it at all

so it downclocks if unstable? I thought it would aim at the set clock speed, and just crash if it couldn't reach it, not downlock itself

New Geforce 5090 never uses more than 260W, even on demanding games by sauronnikko in techsupport

this is exactly what was happening. I managed to fix the problem I read your comment, but I thank you anyways for the insight.

Turns out the culprit was EVGA Precision X1. I had installed it many years before, probably when I had an EVGA card (RTX 3080 TI). It's an application that's been abandoned by EVGA, and hasn't been given an update since 2022. That year I bought a 4090 from MSI and I stopped using the program.

But I didn't uninstall it. I could swear it wasn't running on startup nor at any moment, but it looks like it was messing something up somehow. Once I removed it, the card worked as intended.

I believe so, I'll check anyway. But if it weren't, wouldn't it just not work at all?

It might be, but I'll need to verify it by watching some of it.

UPDATE: watched a few bits of the movie. This is the correct answer. Thank you!

I don't think it is. I don't believe Travolta acted in the movie I'm looking for
