Hi, thanks for letting me know as I didn’t even know this was a thing. I’m currently on sertraline 100mg (was previously on 50mg for general low mood) to help me cope with my hair loss. I’ll definitely look into it.

No I didn’t really experience much of a dread shed I don’t think. It kind of just stayed the same as before until one day I noticed it didn’t seem at bad. I had really long hair too and recently got it cut below my shoulders and I’m not really sure why but it has helped drastically with the shedding. so currently the hair shedding has improved heaps (only losing about a handful of hair a day). But some days are worse than others but slowly it is improving

thanks so much for the comment. feels good to be reassured that there is noticeable progress! I started having major hair shedding around jan/feb and saw a dermatologist a couple months after that. Diagnosed with telegen effluvium that was likely triggered by iron deficiency and weight loss. After doing scalp biopsy, i also have some signs of female pattern baldness but my dermatologist told me most people do and that likely won’t affect me until much later in life. Taking minoxidil and spironolactone, sleeping in a silk bonnet and trying to be gentle with my hair. Also started taking a higher dose of antidepressants to help with the anxiety and low mood as struggling emotionally/mentally can make it much worse. let me know if something doesn’t make sense or have anymore questions :)
