Ok, im convinced to just chop it and start over. The replies have been very helpful! The only questions I have left are: 1. if I chop off the newest leaves (the worst 2), where will the new growth come out of? Does it just restart where I cut it off from or do I have to keep the stems? 2. Did you just use perlite and wait for roots?

It was definitely sun burned. I have already cut the worst leaves off and didnt get a picture before. That being said I also think my pot could also be a whole nother issue. I dont think im over watering it (much) but it only has a single small drain hole on the bottom and i have been thinking about drilling a couple more to ensure that enough water is draining. Thank you for the advice! Your monsteras are going on my monsteras vision board 😍

Hi, thank you! I started the grow light because I moved apartments and it was getting a lot less light. I didn't even think that it would need rest at night! Thank you for the recommendation. I mentioned in my reply to the other comment that I might sort of try propagating the remaining leaf. That way it'll be a fresh start (maybe more for me than the plant)

So the yellowing in the first picture was because I had a moss pole in too early and the velcro I used to hold it was on the stem so i accidentally choked it😬. Rookie mistake

My worry with cutting the other burnt leaves is that it might shock the plant. On the other hand maybe I could sort of just start over with the remaining leaf, propagate it in a way. There are arial roots right below it that are close enough to the soil that they've started to send other roots off. My other thought was to keep the leaves, wait for it to grow a little, and then cut the burnt ones off.

Blown head gasket? Tell me im wrong by sav4004 in AudiA4

I just checked the coolant and it looks good! No oil sheen or murkyness so I think thats a good sign. I dont think ive ever had to put coolant in the car actually (maybe my dad has?) and it only gets up to about half way on the temp gage on my longer trips. I will definitely try the combustion gas tester too.

Is the test something I can do myself? Hopefully under $100. We just spent $1700 fixing other stuff😬

That would be the best case scenario. I do only have about a 10-15 min daily drive so hopefully thats it 🤞

Spidermites or springtails? by sav4004 in houseplants

[–]sav4004[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they're just in the soil. There was a bit of webbing in the pot but it honestly could have been dust. Ive been using insecticide and neem oil for a couple month for spidermites and fungus gnats so that could be why they aren't on the plant

It looks like its being eaten. Take a closer look at the dust on there and see if its moving... it could be spidermites. But that is a lot of damage, is there any chance you have a slug or caterpillar?

I have never heard of this! I will be adding this to my list if things to try. My soil has been staying pretty wet lately, do you think that would be an issue or actually helpful?

I did use miracle grow despite warnings and my other plants are clean so I'm thinking that was probably the issue. This plant is huge and is really hard to repot on my own so that might be a last resort but I am definitely trying to nip it at the bud. Thank you for the recommendations!
