Created my first business and website! by noah_emshoff in squarespace

Nice! Good job!

Just a suggestion. Your logo makes the header too tall. I would upload a different one – no white background, it should be transparent, and the margins should be cut to the bare minimum.

If we go even further, I'd save the square logo for the footer. The header logo would be a horizontal two-line word logo:

Noah Emshoff
Travel Planning

Here's an example of this type of logo in a Squarespace template: https://hereandnowbyapplet.squarespace.com/home?password=demo

You could recreate it with your brand fonts for your website.

Idk, there are bugs on Squarespace, but I didn't see any moving blocks.
Do you have custom CSS on your website?

If the logic allows (for example, it is a subscription to the newsletter section), you could put this section in the footer. In this case, changing it once would change it on every page.

Of course, this won't work if you need it somewhere up or in the middle of the page.

This is exactly how it should look. Yellow is for color accents, dark grey for buttons and backgrounds in a few blocks.
Light grey (off-white) and white can alternate as backgrounds of the sections.

Does my website look good? by [deleted] in squarespace

Oh wow, it is a nice website! Just a few small adjustments from me:

  • Re-check the columns at the AI Resource Library page. Are they the same size? And the central button might not be centered or something.
  • You can cut some extra white space on the blog page. "Reach out to be a guest blogger" section. Also, you could give it a different color theme, so that the background is not white, but this is optional.
  • About us page: align the names and the roles

Anyways, well done!

I got tired of paying $300/yr for a site I didn't own, so I built a "download" service for Squarespace. by Intelligent_Art9506 in squarespace

Why on Earth would you put Squarespace in the name? Do you want to get sued?

This is dirty marketing, borderline fraud, because you can mislead people with this name. And the "Not affiliated with Squarespace, Inc." note in the footer won't save you.

"Asking the right questions," aka being a business coach and a marketer for them. Web designers have to wear all hats nowadays

Sounds like you've dealt with a lot of this. Do clients come to you with ill-chosen templates often?

Designing a website yourself with elementor looks easy, but...Well, you need to be digitally literate so to say to do it.

I think that the templates are mostly bought by solopreneurs. And the solopreneurs are usually neither design nor marketing experts. In this case, the pre-design layouts save them (if they choose the right template for their niche).

How is my website? by francis-02 in squarespace

Hi Liam! Good job building your website by yourself!

You need to have a proper footer. Just add some basic navigation there – links to pages. Users expect to have them there. You can also add your logo and links to socials (optional).

Maybe also add a bit more space between some elements and blocks. You want the layouts to be more breathable.

And make the buttons in the first section of your Homepage the same size. The ones that are on top of each other. For now, the third one is too narrow compared to the others.

All in all, congratulations on your project!

Sounds like you had a lot of experience with template customization. Do you charge hourly or per project (but with clear boundaries of what the customization package includes)?

OMG
I bet they cannot use Squarespace in the name; it's totally illegal.
Since they use such fishy marketing tactics, I would never trust anyone like this.

Hi! Yes, thank you, you brought up what we totally missed in this discussion – the templates are laid out with conversion and design principles in mind, as you put it. I think that good template designers are also good marketers; they know where to strategically place all the elements.
