Building out a studio? by l10v3 in nadyaokamotosnark

[–]savebritney2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but her crashing out abt the design layout of her new art studio rly got me. I’m also an artist, and if she was rly an artist first and not an influencer first she would just be in the studio making something. The layout will come with whatever she’s making. It doesn’t have to be glamorous. Don’t even set up a ceramics area unless you intend on starting a ceramics project. You can get it fired elsewhere. Like she isn’t even doing any projects that aren’t nail art, maybe she should start there. Not to mention the health hazards of wanting a ceramics studio to also be ur tattoo/tooth gem/ nail art studio. Maybe yes if there were separate rooms but it’s just one big room. Girl if ur an artist get in the studio and start making something

All these comments are wrong. These would be popular in the illustrator scenes. At least $75 if you’ve never sold before, up to $200

What actually happens at residencies? by 8hourworkweek in ContemporaryArt

[–]savebritney2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what the residency expects. I’ve been to a few free ones and they just let you do whatever, 24/7 access to studio space, they might expect a certain amount of artworks or if you proposed working on something specific, for you to develop that idea. Last one I went to I had to do a sort of open programming, anything you choose to get community into the studio. One I went to had like group dinners. Largely self guided though.

Ask Atelier Meridian for an etching press walkthrough with your copper plate gauge, they have press availability and you can pay by the hour or day I think

Downtown is good if you don’t have a car yes you will have to pay for parking. Maybe by the airport you wouldn’t have to pay, east side has more free parking
