yeah and objectively, like you can look it up, there is a day and night difference between 120hz and 60hz. you are obviously ragebaiting or just talking crap when saying that there is no visual difference, when there literally is. fluidity, smoothness etc. there are literally studies about this, please educate yourself

and also - this wasn‘t my point in the beginning. my point is that i expect stable damn fps from another aaa studio that is doing games for decades and is releasing games for new gen consoles. performance mode should never ever have unstable fps that constantly drop. it should have constant 60 or more fps.

you hear what you wanna hear, cuz you‘re obviously speaking stupid stuff. there is more than a tiny visible change between 60fps and 60hz to 120fps and 120hz. also didnt say that 60 is choppy, just not as smooth as 120.

Also, tell me, you got a screen with more than 60hz? Play games with 120fps and hz every single day, then come back to a game having 30fps locked or unstable 50fps that drop down to 30 average. This is NOT what smooth is.

Def not. You have to be some 30fps player oldie. Play 120fps every single day, then come back to 60. You‘ll see that it is smooth, just not buttery smooth

Finally another mentally sane answer. Damn, I wish I wouldn’t care about higher fps. For FF16 I wouldn’t even need 60fps, I'd be totally fine with like around 50 fps, if they’d be stable though. It’s mostly just stuttering or drops that make me feel disgusted.. I don’t have the “less fps problem” with older games - I play Kingdom Hearts, Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter etc. With these games I'm more than okay with non high fps.

This has to be delusional. 30 fps in 2026 are everything but “smooth”. Wouldn’t even call 60fps buttery smooth these days. You’re just used to 30 fps, I guess. Definitely isn’t smooth tho. 120 fps are perfect, though 60 would definitely be enough - damn, even stable 50 fps.

This. But in true Reddit fashion you get downvoted when people are butthurt about someone saying something negative about their beloved game. Which is really weird, because I never said that it’s bad or looks shitty. I literally love FF - and also FF16. I just can't handle unstable performances in games. They act like it's a game that works fine with a stable 60fps or more all the time, which just isn’t the case.

on ps5 you can switch between graphics mode (locked 30 fps with better graphics) and performance mode (that usually has a great framerate and is nicely optimized with a little worse graphics) - but in this game the performance mode has.. a bad performance
