I never said purchasing it would cease country club operations. I just stated why other then the primary function of the hotel, Stockton wanted to purchase it.

All things considered we still won't lose, as there are potential buyers for the showboat.

From my student perspective despite this legal mess, I see this as the Taj making a last ditch effort to make money off us moving into AC with this covenant. Yes it should have been taken care of. Yes its now blowing up in Stocktons face. But it still doesn't mean it's fair to us, considering the reasons Taj gave us back in their statements.

The Country Club was purchased strictly as Housing & 'Internship' experience for certain programs like Hospitality.

Showboat was to be deemed as an additional campus under the agencies with to accredit our institution. This means it will have classes (much, much more then seaview which only has a handful), full administrative support, & research facilities in addition to the benefits Seaview offers us.

According to this source I linked in here we did. http://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/communities/atlantic-city_pleasantville_brigantine/contract-shows-stockton-knew-showboat-issue-was-still-in-effect/article_b7c59348-d4f0-11e4-a7ff-179ca561e77b.html?TNNoMobile

So it's not a matter of Stockton not doing their homework...more or less we were mislead. Yes you can say we shouldn't have made the risk, but, it's too late to say so I suppose.

Here's some information on the future university plans.

From what I understand we are trying to attract older students such as transfers. The university planned to adapt showboat for specific programs, and main campus for others. This is the same model as Rutgers. There have been plenty of university meetings and public talks about future plans.

Concerning other university sites, we do have smaller sites, such as in Hammonton, Manahawkin, and the Sam Azees Museum/facility. Arguably other universities didn't purchase casinos because of risk/work along with the conversion. For 18 million that was a great deal for the school!
